www.wwe.com/content/media/video/vms/unforgiven/2008/september8-14/8020758This is a video of a post-match interview with Joey Styles and Jericho is talking about what he went through with Michaels. During it, he shows off his injuries from the HBK match and he shows a cut on his elbow and the video turns to B&W. Was that really necessary? I dont mind that they are cleaning up the product in regards to what Attitude was, but it seems a bit OTT to me.

They do that for all blood, even back in 2004.

They've been doing that a long time.
Honestly, for quite a few people, the Black and White + Blood is more horrifying than the Red. Has to do with with the deep rooted psyche that if your body has back stuff coming out of it, that's really REALLY bad.
The whole black = death thing.

I Agree that they are taking it too far, but I don't think this is the best example of it.

The Jericho/Shawn match was a big violent affair. Chair shots, table moments, beatings, etc....and then a black and white clip for this. Yeah ok WWE - that's kid friendly. Duh.

That's more of an aesthetic choice rather than censorship.
And no, I don't see how the product is kid-friendly as a whole, considering that the divas are still employed.

I'm honestly VERY surprised that there was no blood aside from a small cut and a bloody nose in Michaels/Jericho. I was expecting Jericho to be a mess by the end of the match, but noooooooooooooo.
Oh well, at least Tom Brady...I'll stop there ;D

I found it annoying, but back then they only did it during recaps where blood was shown, now they even do it mid promos?

I Agree that they are taking it too far, but I don't think this is the best example of it. Especially with Undertaker talking about dragging Vickie Guerrero down into the depths of hell.

I think it was annoying that blood wasn't used in the match, nor the HIAC match at SummerSlam.

The black and white showings of blood in recaps doesn't really bother me. The lack of blood in matches like HIaC and the HBK/Jericho match last night bothers me.

If it's in black and white, kids think the stuff coming out of the cuts is ink, like in their favorite black and white cartoons. And then Porky Pig comes out and says that's all folks. And we all change the channel and say "what was that all about?"
I'm still waiting for a wrestling muppet that wins the WHC. That'll be a signal of even darker times.
