So it's kinda known that I watch, read and listen to a lot of weird things. And today on one of my random searches I came across something that I didn't know. Hippos eat meat Hippo eating a buffalo www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gp-0BtK1zIk

Hippos, like the Giant Sloths of the prehistoric/Ice Age would mostly eat plants, but, if available, they will eat carrion.

One of the most heartbreaking things I ever saw was on a National geographic show. A mother hippo and her baby hippo were swimming and a male hippo went to attack the baby, the mother tried to defend it but the baby took off and the male hippo was in chase. All you could hear was the baby hippo squealing in fear, the male hipoo caught up to him and gored the baby hipo to death. After he left the mother hippo came back over and kept trying to nudge her dead baby to make it move. It didnt. And the camera just panned away to the mother leaving her dead baby floating in the water.
I've never watched a National Geographic show since.
