If you didn't know Washington Mutual or WaMu got absorbed by JPMorgan today cuz they basically ran out of money. Which kind of makes these commercials seem a bit odd in retrospect. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BfmJWYJFYfk

I thought the same thing. It's certainly not good, but I laughed thinking about that one guy who thought he was hot shit telling them how his way was so much better.

I had a couple friends who insisted that I was missing the boat when I didn't start banking at Washington Mutual with them a couple years ago.

I wanna see a new JPMorgan commercial that does a parody of It's a Wonderful Life where the WaMu guy comes to the old Bankers on his hands and knees begging for money.
"Look at you. You used to be so cocky. You were going to go out and conquer the world. You once called me "a warped, frustrated, old man!" What are you but a warped, frustrated young man? A miserable little clerk crawling in here on your hands and knees and begging for help. No securities, no stocks, no bonds. Nothin' but a miserable little $500 equity in a life insurance policy."

The fact that their CEO only lasted 17 days and netted $20 million as a severance package is downight f***ing insane.

Thinking on the matter further, I suppose we need PC to finally force Mac under for the hat trick.

A somewhat related question pertaining to Deadpool's, how far are we away before the government starts erasing everybody's credit card debt? It sure seems like with all these corporate buyouts and bailouts that it can't be too far away.

This isn't at all related, but I've had quite enough of the free creditreport.com commercials. (and Rockband 2 for that matter)

"... it's credit card companies who make big political contributions; it's credit card companies who have been the number one givers in Washington. Not big oil, not big pharmaceutical -- big consumer financial services. They're giving money in Congress; they're giving money in presidential campaigns. " -- Elizabeth WardenThat's why the restrictive bankruptcy law was passed in 2005.

The fact that their CEO only lasted 17 days and netted $20 million as a severance package is downight smurfing insane. You think a failing bank can find a decent CEO without a decent severance package? Basically, CEO for a failing corporation is a very high risk job. Odds are you'll fail, and it could be some time before anyone wants to hire you. To compensate, the Board has to offer a decent severance package. I know it sounds outrageous, but there is a valid reason for it. Re: Deadpool: Your WaMu credit card debt now belongs to JP Morgan. Credit cards are like any other kind of debt, and can be bought and sold. No, Credit Card Debt will never be wiped out. The purpose of this bailout is that several key players in the financial market are loaded with collateral they can't sell, namely the GSEs Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and AIG, an insurance group that pretty much insures everything. Those go down, and the the basic lines of credit that allow our economy to run go down. We are not talking about buying a new TV here, we are talking about, I want to ship something and I want to to insure it, or I want to build something and I need to loan to construct it, or I need a loan to purchase at wholesale I will pay back when I sell it at Retail price. So that's what this is about, not credit card debt. That's structured differently, losses are usually built in, that's why they charge high interest. Not for houses.

I know it's still active and still owed. That happened to me with another card in the past. Another company bought my debt. Thanks for the answer anyways though.
