This morning, I woke up in a bit of discomfort. My stomach has been somewhat sore and off for the last few days. I was still mobile, tho, and was able to get out of the house. But by the time I got on the bus and got to work, I was a wreck. The pain in my stomach was moving around to my lower right back, I was having trouble standing from the pain, and I was nauseous. After throwing up in the bathroom, I called it a day and headed home. I was miserable the whole way back. But as soon as I got home, laid down and slept, I felt a little better. I still feel warm and sore, but it's not as wracking of a pain as I had before.
Now, I need to know, do the symptoms of appendicitis usually abate with rest, or is it a fairly constant pain? Because honestly, my health coverage doesn't kick in for another month at work, and if it's something like gastroentinitis, I probably can live through it.

Never had it, but from what i've read, the pain would probably keep getting worse.
Still, you'll probably want to get looked at.

Ya I had it. I was sore in the right side, but not very much, and didn't eat much. I slept for about 8 hours, and then went to the hospital to get looked at. It was a minor swelling starting, and about two hours later I was headed to surgery. I suggest you don't play the waiting game with this.

When I had it I woke up and it felt like there was a knife in my side. By the time I got to the hospital 20 minutes later I could barely move. Like ripoff said, don't wait, get yourself checked out.

I've thought I had it about a thousand times at this point. Anytime I get a pain in my side it's the first thing I think, even if it's the wrong side. I had a kidney stone and it was the first thing I thought of.

if it is your appendix, do not wait around on it. If it ruptures, it will most likely kill you quickly.

Still got the scar, see I had the surgery back in '96, but that was before lazers were used, and i got staples instead of twine.
So I got this long scar, with dots from the staples...yeah..

My appendix was removed back in March. Pretty easy procedure, in-and-out. Recovery wasn't too bad either.

I've had it.
I woke up feeling like I took a gunshot to the lower right part of my gut.
It really sucked.
Afterwards, I ate like 10 quarts of ice cream over 2 days. It was awesome. (Mine was partially ruptured, and they kept me in the hospital for 2 days making sure I was "clean".)
I remember there being a Gilligan's Island marathon on TV that weekend.
Life was good.

Mine ruptured. I almost died. I was in the hospital for a couple of weeks. My scar sunk in from it. Appendicitis is serious business. It's a routine surgery, but if you let it go, it can kill you.
