Gun sucked. NO YOUR MOTHER SUCKS! YOUR MOTHER SUCKS! ...oh wait, it did suck. I would like to see something GTA-esque taking place in the medieval Old World. And don't say "Assassin's Creed was like that" because it just felt like a simpler version of Hitman to me.

Am i the only one who thinks a GTA game with a 50s setting would be good? Greasers, drag racing, chuck berry on the soundtrack, cool 50s cars, etc. Give it time. With sequels, they can still go into the future or the past. Grand Theft Carriage: Tombstone Edition.

I'd like to see 60's London again, it would be great in 3D.

For GTA in the 50s, you wouldn't have to change much about the weapons. The AK-47 and the M-16 would be there, but the M-16 would be that new model that jammed up all the time when so much as a speck of dirt got in it. Submachine guns were there, semiautomatic handguns were there, shotguns were there. Not sure if they had RPGs back then or not. You'd have to change some of the language, the music, and the cars, and that's about it.

I'd love to see a GTA set in the late 60s/early 70s. I could really see it fitting that era quite nicely - you could even have the Vietnam War as a backstory to the main character. Starts off as a soldier coming home from his tour of duty, etc...there could even be missions there...
There was the civil rights movement, all kind of protests (that could be part of the game) and the big blackout/riots that happened could also be missions you have to do (say you cause them or something).
The music, the clothes, the tv and movies out then - they could have a field day with this.

If they did GTA in the 50s they would HAVE to include the dancing missions - complete with full high school ensemble and humourous lyrics.
And yeah, the soundtrack would rock (and roll).
But I echo the calls for a GTA: London remake, more than anything.

Phone booths, a-la the first games. I could see the plot involving alot of Cold War humor as well. Bomb shelter safehouse anyone?

This is a bit of a stretch but I I feel a GTA Star Wars edition would be cool. Grand Theft Landspeeder if you will. A guy who leaves the Imperial Navy and goes to Mos Eisley to work for Jabba the Hutt.

I'd like a GTA set in the 40's for no other reason than the radio shows. There could be some music, but for it to be accurate, they'd have to have alot of shows like "Moorehead Rides Again" and "The Time Ranger". That would be alot of fun.

I have a feeling the 60s version would involve the Kennedy Assasination. PTA would not be pleased.

Am i the only one who thinks a GTA game with a 50s setting would be good? Greasers, drag racing, chuck berry on the soundtrack, cool 50s cars, etc. i'd mark a thousand times over. because this might possibly be the greatest thing ever. especially if rockstar worked in a Back To The Future reference or two (and you just KNOW they would) Oddly enough I was thinking along 'next/new' GTA lines yesterday and I came to the conclusion that a GTA game set in London (modern or 'swinging' of the 60's..either works for me) would be just stupid good. And, given how effing HUGE London is (i've been there...once...and am still amazed at the sheer size of the place) it would very much lend itself to the GTA 'unlock different parts of the city as you progress in the game' model.
