Now most of the time I turn mine off at night, but occasionally I'll leave it on for days on end for various programs I happen to be running that require a lot of time but don't need me to do anything till it's done.
Are you all similar in your computer use?

M computer was on 24/7 until the Headbangers kept bursting into my house trying to get at it. Now, its off when I'm gone for more then an hour or when I'm asleep.

At work, during the week, I just lock my computer and leave it on. I don't shut it down until Friday.
At home, I leave it on during the day even if I'm going out, and turn it off when I'm about to go to sleep.
It defeats the purpose of turning it off and on every time you are using or not using it. It's not a TV.

I turn mine off before I go to bed at night, and turn it on when I get up in the morning.

When I'm at home during the week it's usually on all the time just because I'm constantly using it. On the weekends, unless I bring it with me to a show, I generally just turn it off.

With the internet hook up I have, no way. Computer is off, my info is safe. Firewall, shmirewall. If I could have a tiny guy with a shotgun protecting my data, that'd be fine. Until then, computer off.

I turn it off at night; no way I can sleep with the fans running in the background. I have a spare PC I used to keep running 24/7, but I've run out of things to dowload, so I don't need it on all the time anymore

Nope, not when I'm not using it
Since I pay the leccy bills and cheap there's no way I could
I have a lot of stuff on it that I watch when I'm going to sleep but I set my alarm clock for like 2 in the morning so I can wake up and switch it off

I Normally leave my running most of the day, but I turn it off before I go to bed and turn it back on as soon as I wake up.

I have a spare PC I used to keep running 24/7, but I've run out of things to dowload, so I don't need it on all the time anymore That's the same reason I would keep my PC running pretty much 24/7 back in college. Always downloading something overnight, and I never had to worry about electric bills in the dorm. But these days, I never leave it running through the night. If I want to download something, I make sure I do it during the day, after I get home from work, and before I go to sleep.

It's my alarm clock, so yeah it tends to be on pretty much all the time, even when I'm sleeping.
