Hi, folks.
I have an idea for a gimmick I think could work in WWE. Read on, and tell me what you think.
A younger kind of generic looking guy debuts. He is introduced by vignettes that show he's a lifetime WWE fan. They show his childhood bedroom with posters of Bret Hart & Hulk Hogan on the walls, etc. They make it clear that all his life, all he has wanted was to be a wrestler.
So, anyhow, he debuts. His first match is against a top guy like HHH. They have a great match, and the new guy comes close to winning. HHH pulls off the win by the skin of his teeth. After the match, the new guy offers to shake HHH's hand, and he accepts.
The next week, he fights a guy a tier below HHH...someone like Rey Mysterio. This week, the new guy puts up a good fight- but never really comes close to winning. Again, after the match the new guy offers to shake Rey's hand, and Rey accepts.
The following week, the new guy fights someone much lower on the card...say Santino Marella. Santino Dominates, and wins in a 2 minute squash. The new guy tries to shake his hand after the match, and Santino just walks away, laughing.
Backstage, Vince and Shane are talking about the new guy. Shane is saying that he has a lot of potential, but he may not be quite ready yet. Vince says that he thinks he's lacking killer instinct- and orders Shane to go fire him. The camera pulls back and sees that the new superstar is outside of Vince & Shane's room, listening in on everything.
Well, Shane goes to find the new guy, and can't.
The next week, no mention is made of the new guy. However, some masked derranged guy interferes in Santino's match, and beats him to a bloody pulp.
Over the next few weeks, this masked maniac consistently interfers in matches, just beating the tar out of people. Faces, heels- it doesn't matter.
Finally, a few weeks after that all the superstars get sick of his interfearence. He tries to disrupt the main event and evey superstar runs out from the back giving him the beating of a lifetime. Someone rips his mask off, and it's the generic guy from before.
Basically, the fact that his dream was about to be crushed causes him to go crazy.
I see him being a guy more interested in hurting his opponents than winning- he wants to show Vince that he does have a killer instinct.
Well?
