I'll admit that she wasn't my favorite female wrestler (that would be Molly Holly), but man I have to say that there will never be another womens wrestler like her. I remember at the height of her popularity she had a huge fan following (mainly teenage girls--they really looked up to her). And I still remember the pop she got after she defeated Stephanie McMahon for the Womens Championship. The whole crowd was chanting her name! I thought she had a cool entrance too.
I know a lot of people give her a lot of negativity due to her personal life, but I really think that she had a huge impact on mainstream womens wrestling.
Your thoughts?

Women's wrestling in America would not be where it is today without her. (And I mean that positively.)
You can't deny that, regardless of how you feel about her indiscresions.

I never thought highly of her, but she was over. No question.
Same with Chyna.

Her time in Team Xtreme is a part of why that era of tag wrestling was so great.

She debut'd on heat, & left as a major part of arguably the main feud in the WWE. She had a decent look, the tattoo helped a lot I think, especially when she was teamed up with the Hardy Boyz.
Also, she played a great face and was great as a part of, again arguably, the most popular tag team in wwe as team extreme, but if it wasn't for people like Trish & Steph she wouldn't of had that chance.
If she debut'd on Raw this Monday, I don't think she's end up so great. She managed to get where she was after a serious injury and not being so great on the mic, too, so kudos to her performance.
Her band was playing in my local Academy last night aswell!

For what it's worth she's directly responsible for Edge and Matthias Hardy's careers today. In more ways than one, of course.
They should be running back and forth between Smackdown and ECW venues and her house, kissing her hands once every week.

She was a great heel and a great face, despite severe limitations in all areas - she is a fine example of someone who had "it".

She is, along with Chyna, the most influential female wrestler of the last two decades.
A more-than-adequate worker, charismatic enough to help her team but without overshadowing them, willing to get involved with men's in the ring... She wasn't the best in any field, but sure enough she was a good package.
The unfortunate Matt-Edge thing earned her a bad rep, but also helped immensely both men, and gave her a deserved run at the top of the card. Sadly her sendoff was kayfabed, and she didn't get what her contribution to the business would have required.
Lita >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Trish.

I liked Lita a lot.
I was pretty disappointed with the whole Lita-Edge-Matt situation, she wasn't the strongest on the mic, and no doubt she could be Botchamania at times.
But she was over like rover, brought a strong punky character and different energetic approach in the ring that added to the women's division, and helped bring it the respectability it had rarely had. She had that true crossover appeal that helped add to angles with the male wrestlers as well.
And by the time she was hooking up with Edge's R-Rated Superstar, she was a fantastic slut...and I mean that in the best possible way.

When I think of Lita I think of wrestling. This is something I can only say about a handful of female wrestlers. Most I equate to horrible attempts at wrestling and bikini contests.
So, for being remembered almost purely for her ability to wrestle and not for her looks, which were fine on their own, I have to say that she is indeed one of the most influential female wrestlers of recent memory. Without Victoria, Chyna, Trish, and her we probably wouldn't even have a women's wrestling division.

hmmmm im always in 2 minds when it comes to lita's wrestling- granted she was the only female in the last decade or so in WWE who incorporated some high flying moves in her matches...but after she broke her neck i noticed that she really wasnt that great- she botched often and didnt really have much of a personality...she sucked as a face with the hardys in fact i enjoyed her better as a heel with edge...she wasnt very attractive either and spoke like a dude

She did things in the ring that no American woman had done, Team Extreme was a great stable for the time, and she had fun feuds with Trish. Lita will always be one of my favorites.
Plus, need I mention the thong?

I hated the way the WWE sent her off. Trish gets almost a Flair-like sendoff after winning the Women's Championship and retiring. 2 months later, Lita gets...humilated by Cryme Tyme to a chorus of "slut" chants. I know she was a hated heel at the time, but I just think they could have done something better for her considering what she did for Womens wrestling in the WWE. Thankfully she'd get better treatment at the Raw 15th Anniversary show.
