I think having a title reign that ends in you never really losing your title shows that Punk is still in WWE's plans. Agreed. I really can't understand why people think it's all over for him.

I still don't understand why he is called punk, if anything he is the antithesis of punk.

Probably going down the Bret Hart route when he lost his first title and other titles.

He's about to engage in his biggest feud ever with Orton.
I hope you're not implying he's buried because he lost the cage match and didn't come out again in the show.

Hopefully, a heel turn is in the works... even if it means less title shots and main events, I'd rather have him as midcard heel (that would get over HUGE... if you've seen his heel work from ROH and the such, you know) than a, honestly, boring baby face with the title.

Oh, they're surely depushing him and keeping him in the midcard forever, before jobbing him to Santino before firing him... Punk hasn't technically "lost" the title, so he'll be back in the hunt for the belt. Moreso a feud with Randy Orton is hardly a sign of things going downhill for Punk, so I suggest to keep the hysteria down to a minumum... Geez, to please some fans WWE should have like 10 World Titles, and MAYBE they will stop complaining about guys not being pushed/rewarded Again, it's not the fact that he lost the title, it's HOW he lost the title. Not even competing in the match, and then his rematch is the opening match of Raw? In a cage match? Come on, that's a main event right there, and they start the show with it. And if you think Punk isn't going to get completely owned by Orton, you haven't been paying attention to how Orton has been coming off before his injury. I'm not saying Punk's career is done in the WWE, but it seems to me like they've got very little faith in him as a performer. But again, that's just how I see it. I think you're assuming that almost by default, and you're purposely analyzing the situation with the "WWE hates Punk" attitude. 1) Punk didn't lose his title fighting in the ring. That means he'll be back hunting for it. Those who never got a World Title reign lost the belt with no "if"s and no "but"s. See e.g. Benoit, Slaughter, Kane, Yokozuna, Rey etc. 2) The rematch wasn't the main event. Who cares? The standard rematch on RAW hasn't seen a title change for ages. Plus they wanted to promote the upcoming HBK v Y2J ladder Title Match as final segment. Hard to say it didn't make sense... 3) Orton has allegedly been "pushed to the moon" for the last, what, 5 years? Regardless of how the feud will end, Orton's will be Punk's biggest rival to date. Is it bad? 4) Orton "owning" Punk is more a fear then an actual possibility. WWE are short of faces, even shorter of YOUNGER and fresh ones, so Punk won't get jobbed like he's Scotty Goldman. 5) And if Orton will just destroy Punk next week, may I remind you King Kong Bundy or Earthquake against Hogan?

"He'll never win the World Title." "He'll never defend the World Title." "Well, he'll never defend the World Title clean." "He'll never win the World Title again."
We'll see.

In a perfect world, Cabana and Ace Steele help him out against Orton and Priceless.
In reality, he goes it alone.

He'll be back in the title picture when the time is right. He's only been in the WWE a few years. He still has his whole career ahead of him. A feud with Orton is nothing to sneeze at. Just because he isn't in the title doesn't mean he's been "dropped" out of the main event scene. Give it some time. Let Jericho enjoy his title run, and when the time is right, Punk will be champion again.

I think, like Bret Hart after his first reign, Punker will hold the top belt again. He's got beef with both Jericho AND Orton, and really, he has ties to almost ALL of the Main Event babyfaces and heels. So he always has that "in" to get the strap back, if Creative wishes it to be so.

Once he won the title, he stopped being the underdog indy guy that it was "cool" to cheer, and his popularity plummeted to the point where, if it weren't for his horrible entrance music, you could hear a pin drop in the arena. He's just not a top-tier talent. If he works on his mic skills he could end up an X-Pac-level guy. A solid midcarder, maybe a decent run in a tag team, but that's his limit. And that's if he grows a personality, which isn't the easiest thing in the world to do.

This "Punk will never win the World titlle again" stuff is comical
Let's see, how did the person who punted Punk out of the Scramble do in his first title run?
How did Edge do in his first title run?
Hell, how did the new World Champion Chris Jericho do in his first 2 runs
People have been booked badly as champion and reclaimed the belt at a later date before. It'll happen again. Yet when it comes to the topic of CM Punk, expect to see people bitching
