He got kicked out of the title picture, literally. After the opening cage match against Jericho, he wasn't there the rest of the show. In kayfabe, if he wrestled against Jericho he's not injured so why didn't he do anything to get revenge against Orton?

He got kicked out of the title picture, literally. There's your answer. It's pretty much back to the midcard for Punk. And that's probably exactly where he's going to stay.

He'll likely get a feud with Orton on return which will be a major feature, and with Priceless in the meantime, which will also be a feature at least on Raw and will likely get the tag champs on PPV, then following Shawn/Y2J's payoff, he'll be right back in the title scene. It's crowded on Raw, even with Cena injured, so it is a bit of a revolving door to the title at the moment. WWE knows they can trust him with the belt now, so I expect another reign within a year.

WWE probably realized that Punk's not a marketable main eventer and gave the belt to Jericho to further his angle with Michaels.

CM Punk vs. Team Priceless sounds cool. I'm not too worried about the lack of push for Punk at the moment, he's still young and he should be happy he's already had a World Title reign for that was something the majority of people never thought could be possible.
Sometimes I just think things need to be put in perspective a bit. And Chris Jericho is Champion now, who thought that was ever gonna happen again?

Punk's time may have come and gone. There's a good shot he'll never sniff world title gold again. Best thing for him and his character is a heel turn where he can be a straight edge prick. Put him in a match at WrestleMania vs. Austin and he'll come out of it a hell of a lot better even with a loss. After that I'd get him and Jeff Hardy back on the same show and you've got a ready made feud with a heel Punk.

How do you make a CM Punk? Job him out to Jericho.

I honestly think they'll have him feud with Orton until the Rumble, which he then wins and goes on to win the Title at Mania properly.
Make a big deal out of it like he's gonna prove to all his doubters that he can win it on the big stage in a fair 1 on 1 match and not how he did against Edge.

He has to feud with Orton now, there would be no point setting it up in the manner they did otherwise. That would still keep him in the main event picture and should be a great rivalry.
He'll get another title run soon enough, I have faith in that. I highly doubt he'll become a midcarder for life after this.

Sometimes I just think things need to be put in perspective a bit. But blowing things out of proportion is what being an Internet wrestling fan is all about! No one should be worried about Punk. He's now been established as being a capable of holding the world title.

The reason they probably kept him off was to sell the injury a little bit more considering he was selling it during the cage match. He'll be back in the main event picture after his feud with Orton.

We'll see what happens in the weeks to come about Punk. It does seem like he'll never get a shot at the title again, though.

He's only been here 3 years, and he's young with a long career ahead of him. The program with Orton will be good, I could see Orton winning thanks to Priceless, Orton getting on a hotstreak and winning the title, and Punk coming back, maybe turning heel and stealing leadership of the stable and taking the strap.

Oh, they're surely depushing him and keeping him in the midcard forever, before jobbing him to Santino before firing him...
Punk hasn't technically "lost" the title, so he'll be back in the hunt for the belt. Moreso a feud with Randy Orton is hardly a sign of things going downhill for Punk, so I suggest to keep the hysteria down to a minumum...
Geez, to please some fans WWE should have like 10 World Titles, and MAYBE they will stop complaining about guys not being pushed/rewarded

I'd love to see him put together a stable and go against Orton's new one.
Maybe him, Kofi, maybe Cryme Tyme (since Cena is out). That could be a good long bit of matches and a solid Survivor Series one.
I do think he'll get another reign (maybe not on RAW but, Smackdown!). It seems like his first one was right along the lines of Orton and Edge's first reigns but, longer.

Not even competing in the match, and then his rematch is the opening match of Raw? In a cage match? Come on, that's a main event right there, and they start the show with it. And if you think Punk isn't going to get completely owned by Orton, you haven't been paying attention to how Orton has been coming off before his injury. I'm not saying Punk's career is done in the WWE, but it seems to me like they've got very little faith in him as a performer. But again, that's just how I see it.

I think having a title reign that ends in you never really losing your title shows that Punk is still in WWE's plans.
