Other than his decent promo earlier in the show, his main event spot last night was him choking in being given his 1st opportunity in 3 months.
1) He botched Jericho's promo by being off with the ladder spots. 2) When Hunter got the hot-tag and went for the high knee, Cade flinched and made the move look terrible. He was overall very clumsy in this match. 3) When HBK hit his superkick, Cade was supposed stay standing up (i.e KO'd on his feet) and eat a pedigree from Hunter, but instead he took a bump. Triple H then shouted loudly "Up~!" and make Cade get back up and basically no-sell the superkick in order to take the pedigree.

But they got rid of Trevor Murdoch? Shape up, Lancey. They're always watching.

I think you're painting it to be worse than it really was, but I can see where some of that concern lies.
However, I think it was a good night. He got to have potential face seeds planted as he has carte blanche to turn on Y2J with him getting stranded like that, cut some decent promo...ing in, and Shawn put him over pretty damn well, saying how good he was, and not just doing the whole "he got lucky" BS.

I'd like to see Lance make it big, and this is his chance. He's been at it for years now, tossed in tag teams that would have to blow up the moon to get over. But now...he's working with Jericho, Michaels and Triple H. Even if he gets buried match-wise, if he can keep cutting good promos and working matches well (he did kinda mess up last night) he'll really have that shot at the upper-mid card. And from there? Possibly the main event.

Him throwing that ladder around was hilarious.

I'm gonna have to put him with Colt Cabana in my drawer of IWC hardons I don't get. I've said before, and I'll say again, he sucked as Garrison Cade, and that hasn't changed with his name.

If I can give him credit, it's that he did fall after the HBK super kick. Not falling after that move is dumb. Every singles match ever HBK has been in, he knocks the guy flat on his ass with that move. But in DX tag matches the guy just spins around, never losing his feet? f***ing stupid. It's not like HBK does the move any differently in tag matches.
So while I'm sure he was told not to fall after the super kick, his logical senses must have kicked in when he was hit with it, and he fell.
But yeah, the dude is boring as all hell.

I didn't like that he got up from the kick, but HHH should have dragged him back up and Pedigree'd him.

I think he still has a lot of potential but had an off night last night.
I think WWE made the mistake (and they do this with a lot of people). They call them up, debut them, do nothing with them for an extended period of time, push them once, forget about them again, push them twice, forget about them again, and keep trying to push them over and over again. After the first or second push people are not going to care anymore. I think thats the reason guys like Lance Cade, Shelton Benjamin, and others have such a hard time getting over with the fans whether it be as a baby face or as a heel.
In my opinion they should of never broken Cade and Murdoch up.

Someone like Cade who has been around on the main roster almost as long as guys like Cena and Orton should have moved past the "potential" stage by now. He's a good Lacky, but I can't see him being anything more than that. Especially as he has been treated as DX's personal jobber for so long now.

I don't see anything good in Lance Cade. Kendrick or London would've been MUCH better in his role as HBK's former student. The best thing I can say about Cade is that he isn't an awful worker or talker, he's just...boring.
I have NEVER seen Cade do something cool. Ever...

The only one that really bothered me was the botched DX finish spot. That just looked bad and awkward, not to mention it wasn't just the end of the match, but the end of the entire show.

I still stand by my opinion that they fired the wrong redneck.
