Okay folks, this is a pretty big enough event that ignoring it doesn't make sense. However, we're keeping it contained to this ONE thread.
READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE POSTING ANYTHING HERE, OR FACE BANNING:
1. Absolutely NO trolling or flaming. Do not make argumentative comments and do NOT get into arguments even if "they started it."
2. NO PICTURES WHATSOEVER. No images of Barack, McCain...nothing. Text only will be allowed.
3. Try to keep opinions to yourself and stick only with facts here. Do NOT post anything you even maybe kind of sort of think might irritate those on "the other side."
4. Absolutely NO unverified facts. If it's something in the rumor mill or an accusation that has NOT been proved as true, DO NOT POST ABOUT IT.
This thread will stay open until some point on Wednesday. Don't make us regret it.

Fact: I am voting for Barack Obama
Fact: If you're voting for John McCain, that's okay too. We're still buddies.
EDIT: I hope this gets things off to a healthy start.

I got nothing much to say.
Hopefully, it doesn't matter who wins, and America heads into a bright future, with either ticket.

I'm not voting. I don't think that will make anyone mad. I just, am not going to.

I did my voting last week courtsey of the absentee ballot and while I like both candidates I went with Barack. I also voted no on proposition 8 (I'm sure California residents know what It's about). Edit: Here's a link about prop 8 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Proposition_8_(2008)

Um. Go politicians?
I'm not voting, but if I were to have registered, I'd have voted for McCain, more than likely. Although lately I've been hoping Obama wins for some reason. We'll see!

I also voted no on proposition 8 (I'm sure California residents know what It's about). Had to look that up, but I would've voted "No" for that myself. Not homosexual, but I'm a big believer in equal rights for same-sex couples. As for the election, voting Obama. I didn't vote in 2004 and I felt real crumby about it afterwards, so I'll be sure to do so this year. BTW, thanks to Madison for starting this thread. I don't know how much I'll contribute, but hopefully everyone can be respectful so it can stay open for those that wish to discuss the issues in more depth.

I don't mind either winning. Neither one bothers me and I think everything will be fine with either one heading things up.
I did early voting last week and voted for McCain, but like I said, whichever way it goes is cool with me.

I voted for Ralph Nader, so please don't make fun of me. Voting third-party is the best thing we can do right now. This two-party system bugs me a lot. I didn't vote because I'd be fine with either one to be honest. Any guy who wants to run things with the world being in the state that it is right has my respect, because I sure as hell wouldn't.

We really need some campaign finance reform. That way all parties will get an equal amount of funding.

I will be voting for Obama and I am an Arizona resident. I have no problem with anyone voting for McCain, he's just not the candidate I prefer. I will also be voting no on all the AZ props. That is all.

As a Canadian, I'm interested to see who will be the new President. I'll keep my opinion on who I would vote for to myself, but good luck to both candidates.

Props on voting down prop 8. Barack owns California, despite Arnold being a Republican. It must be hard for McCain supporters in California. Voting Red in Cali is like voting Blue in Kansas (where I used to live). Either way you're pretty much blue on black and tears on a river.

I'm voting Obama.
I just do not like McCain's policies overall(though he does have some that are sound ideas).
Though I do strongly agree with Obama's opinion that the current situation in America cannot be fixed solely by one political party. We'll need members from all political views to gather and come to an agreement on what to do.
Also, McCain lost any chance of support from me when his own running mate, as well as several other Republicans called Obama a terrorist and a socialist. I find it funny that Obama was said to have socialist views and then the members of America's socialist party come out and state that his economic plan wasn't socialist in the bit.

That way all parties will get an equal amount of funding. Tell me about it. We need a lot more transparency in the system too. It boggles the mind how much they spend sometimes. Personally I think they should just rely on the debates and websites. Any intelligent American should find out the rest for themselves instead of relying on completely slanted (from both parties) advertisements.

Well, I voted for Barack, because my sister lives in Chicago, and I think he's a jam-up guy. Although I don't think it'll matter much in my state, since it's basically been a red state for decades, I thought I'd just vote anyway, so I have the right to complain.
Also, I voted more for the local stuff anyways. I knew a few people on the ballot, so I voted for them.
