I think that Big Bossman doesnt nearly get the respect he deserves for being both a beloved face in the early 90's and being the hated bodyguard for the evil McMahons
Bam Bam Bigelow and Chris Candido are also underappreciated by most fans

I always thought Jean Pierre LaFitte was underappreciated.

I have to say that Sean Waltman is vastly underappreciated in my opinion. I know he's done and said a lot of stupid things but i think he helped pioneer the cruiserweight style in the major leagues in early 90's America. To be fair he's had good matches in nearly every company he's been in despite the gimmick. Even having great matches againts some great opposition. Just look at the list: Bret Hart, Scott Hall, Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko, Kane, Owen Hart, Billy Kidman, Shane McMahon, Tajiri, AJ Styles, Raven, Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Undertaker, etc, etc....

I have a hard time evaluating the level at which wrestlers were appreciated, unappreciated, or underappreciated. Does that mean that you think the fans didn't enjoy them as much as they should have? Does it mean that you think the bookers/promoters didn't book them as well as you think they should have been booked?

Underappreciated by the casual fans? The smarks? WWF? All three?

I do agree about the WCW version of Eddie before the fans (regular non marks) started to appreciate his skills from his WWF Latino Heat gimmick. May I also add Ultimo Dragon, 2 Cold Scorpio, Perry Saturn, & John Kronus to that growing list.

I really hope he gets his stuff together, he's only as 34 and that's as old as Rey Mysterio. I want to see him in WWE again, because his stuff in AAA reminds me of why i marked for him when he beat Razor

Don't know if he was the most underappreciated, but he SHOULD have been huge in the US as a power main event guy.

X - Pac for sure. His match with Bret during the 94 Raw was one of the best matches of that year.

People ou just gloss right over without realizing or meaning to.

Only one wrestler even comes close to being the most underappreciated...Mr. Hughes.

Dude, this. Pre-neck injury, he was easily one of the best workers in the world. He did a lot of things back then that hadn't been seen by American wrestling fans. His match with Bret is still one of my all time favorites When he came back from the injury, he clearly wasnt the same wrestler. That being said, he did a very admirable job of adapting to a new style.

The re-writing of history means Chyna is now hugely under appreciated by the smarks. Possibly by WWE as well, is there some problem between them or is there just no reason to mention her?

I LOVE me some Goldust, so I'm inclined to agree, though, Goldust did get some titles and was pushed alright. Bossman and X-Pac were underappreciated, too, though X-Pac did have a period of HUGE popularity. It seems like it wasn't until Tori came along that a lot of people turned on him.
