After The Invasion, is there a bigger wasted angle?
And all because Kennedy f***ed up royally.

It's weird, like, I'm wondering myself if Kennedy was supposed to be the guy really, as they could have played it off til he got back (but then again, why would you put the ball in his court right off the bat, especially with a big angle like that).
Mr. Kennedy, man. What potential, and through injuries, and putting his foot in his mouth, he's been on a huge downward slide.

He Who Must Not Be Named screwed up the first part of it by effectively ending the McMahon death angle. But, it's ok, creative can work around it, we can still get the monster HHH/Kennedy feud for control of the company. And then Kennedy goes and acts a fool. I'm a Kennedy mark, but still, goddamn, what a fool. They don't make bigger pushes to the moon than being a f***ing son of McMahon. Instant main event, instant credibility, instant everything.

Lord Voldemort killed Vinnie Mac's Death? :-)
The New Blood angle in WCW. The Invasion still made Vince a lot of money, whether it was the greatest angle or not.

The Invasion Angle should've have been the biggest angle in wrestling history that could've spanned 3-5 years and massacred any angle's drawing power previously.
The other big one was Goldberg/Hogan at a hot-shotted Nitro ratings grab instead of a Starrcade build.
Or Sting failing to get a clean pin on Hogan at Starrcade 97 despite a year long build as the ultimate WCW revenge match on Hogan.

Here's what I don't get: after Kennedy f***ed up, WWE could have gotten anyone else. ANYONE!!!! Who did they get!? Hornswoggle! WHAT THE f***!!!! Why not Umaga, or Khali, or Edge, or Lance Cade, or Trevor Murdoch, or Randy Orton, or, hell, Triple H!!!!? Yes, I think Triple H would have been a better choice than Hornswoggle.

Here's what I don't get: after Kennedy smurfed up, WWE could have gotten anyone else. ANYONE!!!! Who did they get!? Hornswoggle! WHAT THE smurf!!!! Why not Umaga, or Khali, or Edge, or Lance Cade, or Trevor Murdoch, or Randy Orton, or, hell, Triple H!!!!? Yes, I think Triple H would have been a better choice than Hornswoggle. But then we would have an incest angle. Vince would be the father of both HHH and Stephanie and they have children together.

an overlooked one, IMO, but Goldberg in WWE. He was one of the two biggest men to wrestle in WCW and never WWF/E(the other being Sting). His matches with the likes of The Rock, HHH and other big names should have been huge. But he just seemed so...ordinary.

Regal's "Ultimate Power" angle was a HUGE instance of wasted potential.

Rikishi as the guy who ran down Austin was a lot of buildup for zilch, was it not?

How about the Gooker being in the egg? I know having someone coming out of an egg is stupid no matter what, but they could have still done something better after all the build up.

Rikishi as the guy who ran down Austin was a lot of buildup for zilch, was it not? Some decentness came of it, like the Armageddon Hell in the Cell, but if I recall, all Rikishi really did was get a blow off cage match with Austin in a cage previously, rather than any big match up between them. Speaking of which, it would of helped if heel Rikishi had dressed differently than face one. He'd wear the street clothes, but then just wrestle in the same thing, which kind of hurt the chances of taking him seriously.

Red Rooster? A guy who was slated to be the "Next Ric Flair" makes his way up north and becomes a rooster.
No character has ever killed a career faster than this one.

Who ran over Stone Cold has to be the biggest one for me, as others have mentioned.

Do Mordecai and Nathan Jones count? Since there was a big build up to both guys with virtually no payoff whatsoever.

The Matt Hardy/Edge feud. It was good, but it should've been great. They should'v been at each other's throats for a longer time and it should've been built up more before they first really fought each other.
But it wasn't something the writers came up with it, so it was just sorta pushed through and ended.
