I think honestly that they're going to have to combine the roster before all is said and done. They already have guys wrestle on shows other than the one they are a part of all the time anyhow. If they did that, the different house show schedules would have to be combined, and that'd probably lead to losing more revenue then is saved.

they should Ditch all of the "Divas" If they want to thin the roster any more. Wrestling fans dislike Divas, as we want "wrestling" - not T&A. Who the hell are we kidding? We all love the T&A just as much as the wrestling... the "piss break!" when Divas come on is just there because we all hate to admit we're trying to hide our boners. Seriously, there's no Diva I find unattractive, though a couple of them have some flaws. (Obvious: Jillian's lips/face. Candice's face. None of them have Velvet Sky's ass, though a couple are close). You can't fire the Divas, as we'd lose our weekly significant other approved T&A (well, those of us with significant others, unlike me who is alone <sobs>). Not everyone has seen everything Maryse and Mickie James have to offer. And I'd love to see more of the ones I haven't seen yet :X A couple of points.. 1). But i want wrestling, i have bravo and the 10 min freeviews for T&A and its usually available during the majority of WWE ad breaks. In fairness, the Divas bring in a MASSIVE amount of viewing rates, thats why they are on tv, simple as that. 2). Wes Adams - Released August 15, 2008 (who was that?) 3). Is it time for WWE to get rid of the ECW brand? Raw and Smackdown work on their own accord, would it not make sense to try and sell the ECW brand. They could keep the back catalogue but sell the Name and branding image. Surely it isnt bring in much rev, hence why its still joined on to RAW when they are on tour ect. WWE die hards like raw and smackdown, ECW die hards hate the fact WWE own it and everybody else dont really care. Hey, they could even sell the rights to WCW in the same fashion.

This list is about as meaningfull as Marc Mero's Death Toll list. First of all, FCW should have a lot of dropped guys. That's why it's developmental, you weed out the guys who aren't that good at it, or don't have anything to offer the companies. Second, shouldn't wrestling have a high attrition rate? Given all the injuries, retirements, burn outs, and backstage HEATZ, aren't large numbers of workers departing, well, typical? I mean, I remember back in the day when guys would just disapear, never to be heard of again. I mean, you lose guys, you gain guys. Some guys are only entertaining for so long. That's how wrestling works.
Credit Crunch? Are you saying the WWE can't meet it's payroll and bills because it's lines of credit are spent? The WWE has rather large cash reserves from what I remember. They should be the least effected. The recession, yeah, that may hurt them. But not the credit crunch.

WWE die hards like raw and smackdown, ECW die hards hate the fact WWE own it and everybody else dont really care. Hey, they could even sell the rights to WCW in the same fashion. Well, selling the name means more competition, and Vince won't do that (even though as fans, we would love to see it). ECW Diehards are mostly (and don't take this personally if you are one) a bunch of vicious, bloodthirsty freaks who think ECW meant "tables, barbed wire, and fire" - which, unfortunately, it did in some ways. ECW was actually there so people could WRESTLE, for as long as they wanted, and that sort of thing. The wrestling business isn't what it used to be. There will NEVER be another ECW as it wouldn't make money. ECW kinda proved that. The new ECW does what the old ECW was so good at - getting people over. New guys come in, get on TV, make a gimmick or angle (unfortunately, wwe creative has a hand in this, I'd like a more "hands off" approach), or older guys go back and get revitalized. Without ECW, there'd be no Stone Cold... but when he came into WWE he was the Ringmaster. Think about THAT for a while.

People only say they like womans wrestling in order to sound progressive.
Seems silly to me and I'm sure the poster after me will quote me think of raping my post of it's natural dignity and humanity.
Not so progressive.

....Leon's getting LARGER Well played sir (Applaud) Thread has a winner. Maybe they're just clearing cap space to pursue LeBron, D Wade, and CB4 in 2010. Oh wait. Funaki is safe because you need midcard workers whose sole purpose is to help the Kozlovs and Bournes of the world WWE Universe learn how to work the WWE/TV style on the air and at the house shows. They serve the role that Regal did in the infamous Goldberg match. You need those guys. Hell, search YouTube for Raven or Val Venis matches, and you'll get tryout matches for Dragon, Punk, Ki, John Walters, and others. You absolutely need those kind of guys around, and there are fewer of them now, making those under contract more valuable.

Yes, I say stuff like wanting Womens wrestling to be taken seriously only because I want to sound progressive and PC. Not because I actually want that to happen, nope, only to sound cool.

2). Wes Adams - Released August 15, 2008 (who was that?) ECW referee. Screwed up a main event match on TV about a week earlier, was tossed into the future endeavors pile as a result.

Hey, I never said pre-emption was a bad policy. If WWE wants to prepare for hard times, good, had more people done that, we wouldn't be in this current mess. And their stock price has gone down, it's Linda's job to increase the value of the company. But WWE is not running on credit. Companies are/were effected by the credit crisis because they relied on lines of credit to cover business expenses as a course of normal business. Think of it as paying your Rent with your Credit card, then paying that off two weeks latter when your paycheck came in, but your credit card gets cancelled. That's the problem with the credit crisis. WWE has fat bank accounts. If you check page 14 of their proxy statement, the company claims to have "$256 million in Cash and investments and virtually no debt." corporate.wwe.com/documents/WWEOverview-May2008.pdf So again, not facing the same problems that let's say, General Electric is facing.

Maybe just maybe some people actually do like women's pro-wrestling? Maybe some people like something other than WWE. Did you ever think of that? No, of course not. You don't think.
