Actually, unless I missed something, I called this 4 seconds after the match was announced, and some people said I was an idiot, since titles never change hands in the cage. All kidding aside, though, Cena coming back alone is a big money match, so Batista and Cena fighting now should wait. Also, Batista needed to at least taste gold, since he's been chasing it for like a year. If he's to be a believable threat, he can't be choking nonstop.

seriously I think the main reason is they wanted a title switch on this ep and also wanted Jericho as champ.

That means Cena will probably be champ again, you realise.

Or Batista will try to help Cena win the title... Thus messing this up causing Cena to lose. Setting up Cena vs. Batista 2.
I think it is in the first chapter of wrestling booking 101, believe it is on page 22.

When I heard that the winner would face Cena at Survivor Series, I knew Jericho was getting the belt back no way do they do Cena/Batista 2 with no buildup and they would have Cena win to even the series

I think this is going to set up a program between Jericho and Batista. Even though Batista didn't submit and wasn't pinned, Jericho still cleanly beat him. And, given the way Batista looked after the match (stunned, dejected, with blood pooling on his head), you know that he will (storyline-wise) want to salvage his reputation by facing Jericho once again.

by doing the title switch it gave at +1-up to both of their number of title reigns which as we see with Ric Flair x16....it's a bragging point.
Also, WWE kinda killed the first Cena/Batista match. It was a good match but Cena went out shortly after with injury and there was no significant build-up to the match. They blew their chance imo.
I'm glad Jericho has the belt back. I'd rather see him up against Cena anyway. I just hope he keeps the title through Survivor Series.

Cena/Batista I, for whatever reason, was set as Summerslam's big money match. They apparently needed to make sure that PPV sold, or whatever.
Like it or not, Cena is the current face of the company (yes, even despite being off active duty for months at a time), and he's also the future.
"Big" Dave Batista is also a main-event centerpiece, despite how badly he sucks at pretty much everything, and if I were booking Raw, I'd be looking to gradually phase the guy out, rather than betting the farm on somebody who's getting on in years.
Fortunately, Cena and Edge have only scratched the surface of what it's like to have those two men feud and with any luck, we'll be seeing more of that in the future.

I see Batista winning the Rumble and Cena/Batista II at WrestleMania.

I see Batista winning the Rumble and Cena/Batista II at WrestleMania. there's a rumor of Cena/Batista/Jericho at the last PPV of the year. I see Batista winning it there and Cena earning the shot.

That means Cena will probably be champ again, you realise. Not necessarily. They could in fact have Jericho sneak away with the belt. I'm thinking a Smackdown guy could win the Royal Rumble. I feel that Cena and Batista at Wrestlemania could be for the World Title though. For me, it would be strategic to keep the belt on Jericho for a couple of more months, maybe til Royal Rumble or No Way Out. That's what I would do anyway, put the belt on Cena then, and have the big match up with Batista at the Rumble. Plus it would start a good storyline with Jericho going crazy about how he almost got to main event Wrestlemania again, but it was ripped from his grasp.

They obviously gave Batista the belt for a week to show him that they still love him.
But gave it back to Jericho so that they can have Cena's big return match against him be for the title, which makes no sense as arent they Kayfabe supposed to earn their title shots?
Anyway Cena vs Batista is obviously going to be a Wrestlemania Mainevent however I dont think it needs the big gold belt. Just have the two of them continually screw things up for eachother in title shots starting at Survivor Series then on Raw which sets up the Triple Threat at Armageddon where Cena and Batista take eachother out and Jericho covers one of them for the win.
It depends on who they want to win the Rumble. I'd go with Edge and let Jeff Hardy finally get the WWE title at No Way Out. So we can have Edge vs Jeff Hardy for the WWE title at Wrestlemania (maybe a ladder match?).
Jericho vs Michaels one last time World Heavyweight Title Vs Career match.
As much as we know Batista and Cena are the big names in the company the bottom line is the crowd will want a great show and I think that making Cena and Batista for the title will mean that they shoot themselves in the foot as Michaels/Jericho will be a much better match.
I'd have Undertaker vs Umaga which has been rumoured forever. And Triple H vs Randy Orton (start this at the Rumble/No Way Out. Possibly how Jeff Hardy gets the belt.)
They should have Punk form a rival faction to Tibiase/Rhodes/Manu and have a hardcore 3 on 3 elimination tag match.
