Ok then similar to the other thread instead this time name a match that you thought would suck but you actually ended up loving. There is no preference here and the matches dont have to be considered 'classics'. My first two are fairly recent ones and both involve Orton.
Orton vs. Triple H, last man standing from no mercy 2007. I have only watched this match recently as i wasnt that into WWE at the time. I'd heard a few people on the internet say that it was boring and nowhere near what a last man standing match should be. I absolutley loved it, everything a LMS match should be. Hard hitting and lots of cool spots that kept the match flowing. I also loved the way both of them really sold and emphasised the ref's ten count. Brilliant!
My second is Orton vs. Hardy from the Rumble. Once again i wasnt really into Jeff and didnt think he would win, but the match was solid. Good back and forth stuff and a good clean finish. Really enjoyed it.

HHH vs Flair in a cage match at Taboo Tuesday. I was bored of HHH at the time and I didn't like Flair, I'm also not that keen on cage matches due to overdone spots and frequent gaps in logic.
I nearly fast-forwarded through it, I'm so glad I didn't as not only was it a classic but it was the match that made me Flair fan.

Eddie Guerrero vs. JBL @ Judgment Day 2004..
I remember hearing a rumour about this shortly before WrestleMania XX..and I was confused at how exactly this was going to happen..
Granted, this was still when JBL was still "APA's Bradshaw"..

Cena vs Umaga Royal Rumble
This was still during the heyday of the nets SuperCena hate hype, and I had bought in completely. But dammit, after watching John virtually have to kill Umaga to get him to stay down I became a real fan of his.

Hardy/Undertaker Ladder Match.
I thought "Undertaker in a ladder match? Yeah... this will suck."
...oops.

Undertaker/Big Show in Last Man Standing at Cyber Sunday.
Once that match got voted in, I wanted to grab a bite to eat really quick.
Glad I didn't.

I few do come to mind. The first was HHH vs. The Great Khali at SummerSlam. When I saw this match get made. I thought this is the best WWE title match they can give us for the biggest PPV of the Summer? I thought it was going to be unwatchable bad. Because of not seeing one good Khali match ever. Even if it was HHH. But it was better then I hoped and watchable.
Cena vs. Umaga I do agree. It was a fun match to watch. I think being it was a gimmick match. It was made it good.
Back in 06. Big Show vs. Flair for the ECW title. That match was a lot more then I expected. I never would guess to take the bumps he did. At his age and when he didn't have too. I was impressed.

Any WCW cruiserweight match from from like 1996 through 1997. I was a dumb 10 year old kid at the time and only really cared about what Sting and the nWo were doing. I didn't appreciate the cruiserweights at all. I ignored so many great malenko/jericho/benoit/mysterio/guerrero/psychosis matches. I watch some of those matches on VHS nowadays and feel so stupid for not being mature enough at the time to appreciate the display of art those guys put on. I really wish I could go back in time as a 23 year old and re-live all of those cruiserweight matches again, because I would enjoy those so much more.

Batista vs. Undertaker, WM 23 JBL vs. Cena, Judgment Day 2005 I was going to write in JBL/Cena as well. That I quit match is one of the better no dq matches WWE has had in the past few years.

Shawn vs. HHH Summerslam 2002
I thought Shawn would be a shell of his former shelf and HHH hadn't had a good match since coming back from the quad injury.
Was I ever wrong.

Chris Masters vs. Super Crazy, all of their matches. They had some real chemistry, I was surprised.
Miz vs. Matt Hardy. This is when Miz really came to age as a performer, right before he got moved to ECW. It wasn't just Matt, either, it really showed people he wasn't going to fizzle out.

Honestly, a lot of matches are like that for me. EDIT: I also agre with the 1st Punjabi Prison match.

Also:
Hogan vs. Vince, WM 19 Rock vs. Austin, WM 17 (only because I was so tired of their feuds at the time, and had been disappointed with most of their matches, namely the WM 15 match. Boy, did I get blown away... 5 star classic right here.) HHH vs. Orton, No Mercy 2007, both matches (After the lackluster program they had in late 04, early 05, I was not expecting much from these two. But they delivered a very solid match to open, and great match to close. Orton continues to impress me, here and there, and it's adding up, but that's another case, for another time.)
