I can't believe any wrestler smokes. In their line of work how can they even think about smoking?

Videos not available...Who else does the dirty deed?
And as someone prior pointed out, I found the original article ridiculous considering I've yet to see any proof of Orton in the ring that serves as an example his smoking habit is hindering his performance....

From all accounts, the guy has grown up a lot. People used to ride him about being a jerkoff and forget about his age. He was 23 when all the bad reports started coming in about him. As a 24 year old male myself, I know that most guys my age are pricks, which is why I don't associate with them. Hopefully most of them turn themselves around and grow up by their late 20's. Randy is now pushing 29, and has likely matured a lot. He's married now, I've actually had a positive encounter with him at a RAW show in October where he was friendly with fans outside the arena. People need to give the guy a break. Shawn Michaels used to be a real dick too, you know.

I met Randy Orton once when I was like 11. I asked for an autograph and he drew a star.
A f***ing star. And he messed up, it was all scribbled and everything.

Santino smokes and Maria has been pictured with a cigarette. Jeff is a smoker and a few others as well. But to be honest does it even matter? It's legal in the end of the day.

But seriously, it's Orton's lungs, it all comes down to personal choices and discipline.

If this had come out a year and a half ago, I would have believed. But now, it just sounds recockulous.

I am sorry but I totally disagree with some of the views expressed here. Orton is an adult and can't be forced to change his character, even less so by his employer.
The WWE has a set of rules. If Orton chooses to follow them, good for him, he can go on supporting his family. If he is stupid and unprofessional and he loses his job so be it. I won't hate him for it and I'm not going to tell him what to do. After all, the guy seems to enjoy this sort of behavior in the first place. Good luck to him and more power to the guys who behave themselves.
Regarding the smoking part, we're making it sound like if Orton quits smoking he will start putting on stellar matches. Granted he will have more stamina but why should he change his way of life: a) to satisfy my utopian notion that he will become the wrestling god of the millenia b) to kiss the proverbial ass of a company that publicly criticizes drugs, steroids and alcohol abuse (see cases of Benoit and Eddie) while at the same time milking its employers for all they are worth indifferent to what substances they abuse to keep themselves on top or just on their feet. Hey, Hogan and Warrior didn't do steroids! (but they sure sold a lot of T-shirts and foam belts). Jeff doesn't do drugs! (but everyone loves him. Just don't put the belt on him because he may lose some shows and ticket sales will go down)

Orton should come out to the ring smoking, like "The Giant" used to do in WCW.

Does Big Show still smoke? I think he quit not too long after leaving WCW.

Actually, Show smoked cigars throughout his WWE run, too. After he retired (upon losing the ECW World title), he wanted to get into shape so he could start boxing. Even though the boxing didn't work out (except for this knockout kick he's on), the last I heard, he's off the smoking.

Vince and Shane like their cigars from what I've read but I know a lot of people that smoke cigars but not cigarettes.
