Therefore, how did YOU meet the New Year, and does it bode well for 2009 being a good one?
Personally, my New Year was pleasantly different from others. One of my major problems in my life is that I'm pretty self-isolating. In college, I always declined going out with my roommates, neighbors, and classmates, and stayed in my room by myself playing video games and surfing the Internet. As you can imagine, this was not so good for my social life or emotional health in the long-term, and I had to deal with a lot of loneliness and boredom. Since coming here to Tokyo to study abroad, I had been starting to follow the same pattern over again.
But this time, I finally scrapped that. I asked some of my classmates/neighbors if they were doing anything for the New Year, and they invited me to go clubbing with them. I ended up spending the New Year having a snorkin' blast at the Flower nightclub in Roppongi, Tokyo. I drank, I danced like all heck, and I sociallized. We didn't leave the club until 5 AM, and only parted to go back home after the sun was up. It was totally fun, and, more importantly, I finally felt a little like I was part of a group.
Of course, the icing on the cake to top it all off would've been if I had met a good woman, which didn't happen that night. So, that's dissapointing.
But overall, I'd like to think that it bodes well for the New Year, and that it means this is going to be the year that I'll finally break out of my social shell. (of course, I'll still be girlfriend-less, but it's a start. Maybe 2010)

I spent New Years Eve cuddling with someone I've loved for five years, only he didn't know it.
He does now.

Sitting blankly on the couch, wishing to avoid human contact.
It's gonna be a good year.

I didn't do anything, but, given recent events in my life, this will be a good year anyway.

Watching Robbie Kanevil make a jump in Vegas and then watching "Sorority Boys"...

I do not want to know where that leads...

Partying at a hotel with all my friends, along with a girl who I'm not sure if I want to date or not.

Well I spent an hour and a half helping my 8 year old cousin with an 'I Spy' book. We finished it, realised it was 11:57 then hurriedly joined the rest of the family to ring in the New Year.
So yeah, I don't know what that means I'll be doing for all of 2009.

i can't remember much of last night but my hat looks like it's been set on fire and there's a collection of large stones in my pocket. according to my phone, i had an hour and a half long phone conversation with a girl i like, but i don't remember any of that either. also, someone's written "ska" on my leg in what appears to be permanent marker.
should be a good year.

I have been drunk for about twelve hours straight now.
At midnight, I was outside dropping large seeded fruits off the neighbor's balcony. We didn't have a flashy ball, so we improvised.
So if I spend this year drunk and throwing leftover pumpkins from Halloween and Thanksgiving then I guess I can't complain.

Spent it with mates. Had some drinks and food, got nostalgic and unleashed the super nintendo. Then went to a club which had some hot chicks and was great fun for once. Bodes well for the rest of 2009

Went to a smashing new year's party, jumped around to random music and hugged some friends that I hadn't seen in months due to Uni. When new year itself hit, me and all my friends all hugged in a circle and started jumping around like crazy...exactly like last year. And I wouldn't trade that for the world.
