Couldn't have been worse than Tommy Lee Jones.

He would have been infinitely better than Tommy Lee Jones, but frankly nothing could have saved Batman Forever from being a camp fest.

Well, we were supposed to get Billy Dee Williams as Two-Face in Batman Returns, but then he beat the crap out of his wife and had his hands full with court dates. Plus I doubt Warner wanted him in their movie at that point. So, Burton created the subplot with Maxwell Schreck to take the place of the Two-Face story. Damned Billy Dee.

What I heard was that Dent was supposed to be scarred when Catwoman electrocutes him like she did to Schreck. But from what I understand, that would have required Dent to have been portrayed as a villain before becoming Two-Face, and they didn't think it was a good fit, so they replaced him with the Schreck character. I hadn't heard anything about Billy Dee's court dates.

Billy Dee was going through serious legal shit at the time.

While I think Billy Dee is a good actor I don't think he has the range to carry Two-Face. He was fine as a background Dent but the emotion needed to portray Two-Face I just don't see in him.

Billy Dee was going through serious legal excretory matter at the time. I actually don't own the DVD, so I just go by what I've read. Nevertheless, that is pretty interesting.

Perhaps, but while Tommy Lee Jones had the acting chops to do so, he was not allowed to actually do so properly.

All I know is that Billy Dee got paid a s***load of money to NOT appear in Batman Returns and Forever. He had the character/sequels in his contract and when they wanted to back out they had to pay him off huge.

He had the character/sequels in his contract and when they wanted to back out they had to pay him off huge. Precisely. He really wanted to play Two-Face, and accepted such a small role in the first movie in order to get it. He thought that the big money clauses would ensure that he would get what he wanted, but instead he just got PAID.

I woulda like to see him in it. Better than Lee Jones, but probably not better than Eckhart.
