They should have stuck with the gimmick they gave Hassan right at the start. It would have been a wonderful heel. I was hoping they'd do a vignette where he tried to board an airplane, exposing the prejudices around him. He could even have had Daivari "tip off" the stewardesses that all the in-flight magazines "had Arabic numerals written everywhere". Make him an _agent provocateur_ for the prejudices he decries, so you have a reason to boo him (no one likes a trouble maker) but on principle, he would be correct.
Instead, they went with USA Phooey!. Ah well.

Current Jericho and Edge alone are better heels than Hassan.

Agreed. I personally really liked him, and LIKED that it was a complex angle. I truly don't get what Loki is driving at. Are all wrestling angles supposed to be dumbed down and moronic? Is it taboo for something to have layers and be shades of grey, instead of black and white? Please clarify. It's not taboo. And it's not even supposed to be dumbed down. But as said, it's pro wrestling, not an artsy French movie, or a project for your dramatic writing class. The premise behind a wrestling feud has very seldom been a complex one, and more ofter than not, the characters on the show can be described with one line. Let's face it, the average fan is either a kid/teen or an adult who's still a kid at heart. And even if they were Ivy League honour students, they're watching a "silly" form of entertainment... Complexity isn't needed. As some fans wouldn't "get" it, and some wouldn't care. Wrestling needs to be "in your face", a Superstar must be recognizable and "categorized" in a matter of seconds. That's the main reason we've had 1-D or 2-D characters for ages [always?] A complex. multi-layered character requires too much "thinking", and in such a "here-and-now" business there ISN'T much time to think about what he said, maybe he's right, boo or yay... Oh, and how comes nobody thinks Ludvig Borga could have been the greatest heel of his time?

Oh, and how comes nobody thinks Ludvig Borga could have been the greatest heel of his time? Cause he sucked? And so did Hassan IMO... I brought up Borga because his gimmick had some analogies with Hassan's. Borga was criticizing the American Dream [no, not Duffty], but arguably he had a point. So did Hassan in criticizing the prejudice of the Average American. But both men did it in a brash, heelish, way. Despite that, a heel should NEVER have a point, no matter how boldly he puts it. A good heel should say outrageous things that are right only in his own, skewed, logic. Not get a "hmmm, he's sorta right" vibe
