There are a lot of choices here. I was torn between Ric Flair, Benoit, and Taker. Always impressive when someone enters as #1 and wins it. I think no one expected Benoit to do it and he was a major force in the whole match. Taker's was nice because of all the years, he finally got a Rumble victory. I will go with his because I am a huge Taker mark and it was cool to see him get a win and do the kneeling pose at the end.

2009 - Randy Orton ;D
But until then, Benoit's. I had been out of the wrestling loop since some time in 2002 and that dragged me back in.

There is only one answer here, a fair one at that. Otherwise you wouldn't have been fair.

Are we talking about favorite when it happened, or favorite now that we look back?
1992 Flair is still easily my number one in reterospect.
But Cena was far and away the biggest mark out moment in Rumble history for me as it happened.
What is the criteria?

Always enjoyed Rock vs. Austin at the end of '98. Especially JR's last bit.

A toss up between Flair and Benoit, but I have to say that Flair takes it, because the Rumble itself was awesome, and his promo after he won is one of my favorites

Benoit, since he wasn't really pushed at the time. They were just quiet when they gave him the number.

Flair, hands down. He was in the ring for over an hour and put on one hell of a show. Not to mention, he won the World title.

Flair.
Not even Bret co-winning it while selling Owen kicking his leg out of his leg can dethrone Flair's impressive win.
I had just heard wonders about that Ric Flair guy from the then-announcer, but I had never saw him wrestle before he came to WWF. So I was a tad underwhelmed when I finally found out Ric Flair, the man who was on par with Hogan in terms of popularity in the U.S. was a smallish middle-aged flabby man.
Watching him in that Rumble was all I needed to understand all the hype.
Oddly enough, as I watched more of his older NWA matches, the understanding for the hype began to wane.
The 1992 Royal Rumble, and all the 1992 stint in WWF was the top of my Flair's fandom

In terms of overall emotion and markdom, Benoit.
For how well it was done and executed, either Flair, Austin in 2001 or Cena.

I voted for Taker. Concerning the timescale he'd been in the company, it was one of the most well deserved RR wins.

Undertaker in 2007. He had a classic finale with HBK, and did it with blood (though it was drawn by Rated RKO). Austin's in 98 was second, and Benoit's win is third with Batista's win in fourth.
