That's right! Time to shake this up and do a little something new with this countdown. For the next four weeks we'll be doing what I'll call the 2008 WWE Wrap Up Special. We'll be looking back at the year that was in WWE and deciding the following: -Wrestler of the year. -Feud of the year. -Segment/Moment of the year. -Match of the year. Now, this one will be a slight bit different as we're going for 25 instead of the usual 20. Match of the Year is usually the most competitive and wide open category, and the one most people anticipate counting down at the end of the year. For this list, send me your Top 10-15 matches of WWE in 2008. Anywhere from 10 to 15 matches on your ballot is acceptable. As usual, you have until the beginning of Smackdown on Friday night to get your lists in. After that, we'll begin counting down the final wrap up of 2008. As long as it happened between January 1st and Friday, it's fair game. If you haven't checked out the Moments/Segments thread, please do!. That thread is still totally open for discussion, just letting voting begin on the next.

MGH, I have a question to ask of you: will all #1's be weighted the same?

This is going to be hard for me. I haven't seen many of the big PPV matches of this year, I'm going to have to do some research.

Just sent my list as a top 15. Here's a run down of which wrestlers appear the most in putting on the best matches this year in my view:
Shawn Michaels = 6 times (none of which include Ric Flair - it may be one of the best moments of 2008, but it wasn't one of the best matches in my opinion) Chris Jericho = 5 times (all of them involve the man above him) Triple H = 5 times Jeff Hardy = 4 times Edge = 3 times Undertaker = 3 times John Cena = 3 times Umaga = 3 times
I've also included one ECW match and one women's match in order to represent the best the they had to offer in 2008.

a real guide to this would be results of the "match of the week poll" for those of us who haven't seen too many PPV's

I had one form TV the rest on PPV. MOst my choces are based upon what I've read because I've only seen Mania, Summer Slam, and the Rumble. Among my more notable selctions include a women's match and 3 matches featuring male wrestlers whom I hate.

OK sooo i sent in a Top 15 cause there were 15 matches i really loved this year. But since i usually break things down to Top 10's, i am breaking up my breakdown here.
TOP 10 - 1 from Royal Rumble - 1 from No Way Out - 2 from Wrestlemania - 0 from Backlash , Night of Champions, Great American Bash, Survivor Series, Cyber Sunday, Unforgiven, SD - 1 from Judgement Day - 1 from One Night Stand - 1 from Summer Slam - 1 from No Mercy - 1 from Armageddon - 1 from the Feb. 11 Raw ( wink wink!)
HBK appears 6 times in the top 10, Jericho 3, Edge 3, Jeff Hardy 3, Taker 3, Triple H 3
Raw 5 matches from Raw, 3 from SD, 2 interprom.
The Other 5 includes 1 match from Night of Champions, 1 from Unforgiven, 1 more from Summer Slam, another from Raw, and 1 more from Armageddon
Raw All 5
HBK, Triple H, Jericho, and Hardy all make one more appearnce each here.
If i were to expand to a top 20 the 5 OTHER MATCHES that didn't make my list would be Taker vs Edge WM 24 HBK vs Jericho Great American Bash Jeff Hardy vs Triple H No Mercy Triple H vs Orton vs Cena vs JBL Backlash Bourne and Rey vs The In Crowd Raw

I would say if people are doing 12, and some doing ten, the number 1 might not get it, so maybe keep it 10 for 1st place all the way down to 10th but then 11-15 (if applicable) only get 1 point each?

Well, MGH announced this a few weeks ago, so I've had a bit time to think about it. When it turned out we could have up to 15 matches it actually made things pretty straightforward.

Right now I have it narrowed down to 20 matches. So far there are five TV matches, four from Raw and one from ECW (none from Saturday Night's Main Event, SmackDown, or Tribute to the Troops). There are loads of matches featuring Edge, Michaels, Jericho, Hardy, and Taker. Again, I still have to reduce my list from 20 to 15.

MGH, I have a question to ask of you: will all #1's be weighted the same? Gewdnezz pretty much summed up how I'm doing this one. The extra 1-5 are just to get more recognition for more matches. The first ten will be scored as per usual. Any extras are getting a single point apiece.
