Christopher Daniels should have been ROH champ at "Redemption" instead of James Gibson. I agree completely

Christopher Daniels really should have gotten a TNA run. I hoped his feud with Sting would have elevated him into the title picture, but sadly, that feud did nothing.

Scott Hall Roddy Piper Ted DiBiase Owen Hart Brritish Bulldog Christopher Daniels Jake Roberts Curt Henning Shane McMahon Ok. Hall and Roberts are too unreliable to be given the main title of your company. This is why Jeff Hardy will not be champ. Piper, Mr.Perfect, Bulldog and DiBiase were major stars during a time, where holding the WORLD TITLE meant much more than today. Hogan winning it for the third time was big. Today someone, who will never have 1/10 of Hogan's meaning to wrestling has had 12 (or so) World Title runs. Piper, Hennig and Bulldog could have been champs later, but their stars were already fading then. Owen Hart would probably have had at least 1 short World Title run in the 21st century, but he died to early. Christopher Daniels is kind of surprising, considering that AJ Styles and Ron Killings are two time champs in TNA. However, Daniels time may still come. AJ is getting a push right now and Daniels won't stay Curry Man forever. Shane McMahon? David Arquette my ass! I would RAGE, if they gave the title to Vince's chubby son, no matter how stupid they would book that shit!

Most folks that have already been mentioned like Piper and Dibiase. I'm not surprised about Owen Hart. I think they were gearing up for it and then came his tragic death. Had he not died, I think he would have been Champion in another year or so.
Also, someone mentioned Curt Henning. He was the AWA World Champion. For whatever that might be worth.

How the hell is this breaking the rules? Anyone? Because Andre has been champion, and the thread title asks "Who are you surprised hasnt been world champion?" Oh. I thought he meant the forum rules. But Andre's reign lasted like what? 10 seconds? Is he even acknowlegded in WWE's title history as champ?

Not true. He only started no showing recently. In his prime he should have been world champ. He was apparently supposed to get a run with the belt in WWF but got run over by the Lex Express. I also think when he won World War 3 97' he was going to beat Sting at Superbrawl 98' (winner of WW3 got a title shot) but his alcohol/drug problem got in the way. Instead they postponed his title shot for Uncensored and did some crap with Hogan/Sting for the vacant belt instead. I was referring more to Hall's WCW run. In WWE he was just fine. I think if Hall had never gone to WCW he would have gotten a run with the world title in WWF. Also he might have been in DX which now that I think about it would have just been weird.

Lex Luger when he was in the WWF. It seemed like all of the collective energy being put into his major face push (when he was pegged as Hogan's successor as the muscle-bound, All-American superhero) would've led to an inevitable title run. I heard about the rumor/urban legend about Luger being booked to win the belt either at WrestleMania or SummerSlam. But Luger messed things up when got drunk and blurted out the plans to a some New York bar patrons.

He was World champ in WCW... I'd like to add Arn Anderson to the list. I can only recall him getting one title shot vs Barry Windom. That man should have held the World strap.

Christopher Daniels. I haven't gotten a chance to watch some of his work from ROH but I've heard alot people say that he is one of the best wrestlers to never win the ROH title.
But he definitely should of gotten a run in TNA by now. Not to take anything away from AJ, but If he can win the title twice then Chris Daniels can win it atleast once because he is as just as good and he was as over as AJ was.

Even if it wasn't for his personal issues, Jake Roberts pretty much summed up his role in WWF in the '80s on his "Pick Your Poison" DVD by saying that he was basically a stepping stone/building block to get to the main event with Hogan.

I thought that Magnum was going to win the NWA Title from Ric Flair at the 1986 Starrcade, but then, he got in that car accident that ended his career.

DiBiase, he was the consumate heel and performer, and if stories are true, was going to hold the WWF title before plans got changed.
Having not been a fan in that era, to go back and watch just puzzles me why he was never champion.
