That was pretty cool, never saw it before. Very wise move turning him face and creating the whole Hulkamania phenomenon. If he had stuck with this character there might not be a WWE today, or wrestlecrap forums for that matter. I got sucked into watching wrestling as a kid because of Hogan, so without him I wouldn't be here at least. Now that I think about it does make me wonder where my life would be now had I not spent such a large portion of my life watching wrestling.

I thought his first match in WWWF was against Ted Dibaise. Thats what it said on his 2002 DVD

Awesome clip. Very odd to see Hogan screw up a promo as he eventually became one of the best at it.

It's weird to see him with hair.

Huh. As someone who started watching in the Attitude Era, it's interesting to see an old clip like this, with the business still being treated like a "real" sport - it looks more like a boxing match here. That's cool.

I've got a clip of his return in late 83 which was thrilling, Bob Backlund brought him in, he did a run in after Bob was being attacked by the Samoans I believe

Heel Hogan debuting against face DiBiase is also quite the interesting bit of trivia.

Don't forget to mention the young and hung Vince McMahon.

So what was the result of that Hogan/DiBiase match? Did Hogan manage to eliminate Ted Dibiase from the squared circle and his professional wrestling career from now on?

How old was Hogan there? His voice sounded a lot different from the Hulk we all know and possibly love.

I credit Hulk with everything he's due, but I've never liked him. Even as a kid, my cousins would be all "WOOO HULK HOGAN" and I'd be like "yeah, ok, Sting is better."

That dude looked like a midget next to Hogan. Jeez. And Snad, you're not alone. I was raised on WCW/NWA, so when Hogan came into WCW, I still heavily favored the guys like Sting, Flair, and Vader over him.
