Will probably only mean something to UK wrestling fans, but last night at IPW:UK Martin Stone was facing Iestyn Rhys for the British Title - Stone had overcome the odds of Rhys' stablemates in the Thrillers, and had choked out Rhys, but the ref was out cold.
Stone followed Gilligan Gordon, the Thrillers' manager, to the stage to pound him good, when a hooded figure booted Stone, and then revealed himself as Alex Shane, who was thought to have left active service for ever. After pummelling Stone, he left him for dead, and the title changed hands.
I've personally never been so surprised by anything in wrestling - we KNEW there were going to be shenanigans and an almost certain title change, but never thought it'd be this way.

I only know Alex Shane through his column in FSM but this is surprising.

Cool, maybe he'll be back on TalkSport some time soon.
Yeah, I can wish.

Alex Shane's back full time?
AWESOME. This makes me very very happy.
Now we just need a full-on FWA revival and I'm fully happy with British wrestling.

Remember when Alex Shane was somewhat relevant? And that's being generous.

Remember when Alex Shane was somewhat relevant? And that's being generous. Top heel in all of British wrestling for several (relative) boom years, and one of the very top names in the FWA... no need to be generous. Ah the biggest prick in English wrestling history returns, lovely. Hell, the guy knows how to do well out of the business... hats off to him. Sure, he molests the truth like a trannie hooker sometimes , but I've always found him to be a good guy.

That's like being the best elephant polo player in Cornwall. Means nothing. The guy was never a particularly good worker, a VASTLY overrated promo guy, a professional bridge-burner, and the proof is in his current state: A laughing stock.

I'd rather he stayed away from wrestling, but whatever. I don't care either way.
