Oh, and another reason I love Genshiken is it gave us the ultimate comeback to use on those that don't "get"hentai. What, the fact it's animated porn. I don't think it's the fact, that it's the actual watching of hentai, it's the fetishes and fanart of hentai, that people find disturbing. When you like fetishes like - Lolicon/Shotocon (Child Pornography) - Rape - Guro (Violent Pornography) - Maiesiophilia (Pregnant Pornography) People are going to take offense. sure you see things like Rape in films, and stuff, but it's not seen as a fetish. The thing that I don't get is the Lolicon/Shotocon fetish. If you find, people having sex with childen, arousing, you need to get some help very fast, and at least ask someone to kick you, because you deserve it.

Also, some more useless trivia. The anime/manga series all the main characters love in the series, Kujibiki Unbalance, was actually made into its own anime series. You beat me to it. Well, there's also an OVA of Kujibiki Unbalance too.

Well, I have no interest in loli or shota, but I have to say that going toward this discussion has a giant chance of turning into a war. Saying this is more suited for the mods but I don't really want a big argument to break out about this.

Here is the Kujibiki Unbalance opening. It is based on Genshiken's first OVA opening, which I'll also post for comparison.

What Anime fans will tell you, A Otaku is a big fan of Anime, But in the real world, A Otaku, is a obsessive person, who can only think of a certain intrest, and will only think of it. Life is just a distraction, for an Otaku. Overseas Anime fans, think it's a privilege, to be called a Otaku, but in Japan, being called a Otaku, is like being called Scum. While it is more derogatory to call someone an "otaku" in Japan, I think you've confused them with NEET's and hikikomori. There's also a movement among self-proclaimed otaku in Japan to make the word into something less negative, like in the West. Also, I've seen Genshiken. It's awesome.

And now for the results of my hentai search!
Regular: yep Guro: Not really, but Kanako appears to be attempting to insert a doujin Scat: BIG OL' CHUNKY Crossovers: Kanako appears half-dressed as several anime/video game characters Rule 63: If you count futanari Lolicon/Shotocon: How old is Chika anyway? Rape: Appears to be that way with some Maiesiophilia: No. Good thing too since I am seriously not a fan of this stuff.

Well, like I said earlier, don't go toward the loli/shota thing, since it'll end up very bad later on. Same goes for rape. Still, looking at your checklist, I just remembered what was missing: tentacles.

A bit unfair to say that only people who think things like that are acceptable should be allowed to state their opinions... I'm just going to say, for those that do find it such, it's pretty telling that this thread is bringing up "Sex Offender" banner ads.

True, I think. Well, in any case I simply asked to not go there just to be safe and not break any rules around here. I mean, there are anime forums that discuss the entire loli/shota stuff; and while reading the opinions on both sides is interesting for me, I'm pretty sure that it's against the rules in here. I remember a few months back when I was just new around here when something slightly similar happened which ended up into a pretty heated argument -- I wasn't part of the argument, but I was kinda involved.
Er, in a nutshell, just keep things safe and civil so that we won't be throwing flaming bags of poop at each other. A mod is more suited to saying this, but I'll just say it before we get warned. Those guys in green and purple are scary~

I'm surprised I haven't been thrown out of here yet, myself, the way I seem to have a hate-on for everyone else's fetishes.

Yeah, pretty much. I don't call myself an otaku, as I don't really fit that. I like everything. So the term "Japanophile" fits me better. ....so why were you formerly "Koda89: Master Otaku" ?

I was using the Western world's definition, which simply is: Anime Fan. The Japanee definition is obsessive anime fan. See, even though they are the same word, depending on what definition you are referring to, the word is different. The version of otaku used in this thread is the Japanese definition. I don't fit the Japanese definition. I fit the Western definition, though, and that's the version I was using in my screen name.
