As a pedestrian I have noticed that cars need some sort of signalling device to light up when the car is gonna turn. That would make it so much easier on the pedestrians, not to mention the other drivers, to know where the car is headed and thus cut down on accidents and things of that nature.
Wait...do you mean there are such signals installed on cars? Then someone needs to come to my hometown and give a demonstration on how they work!

I was always under the impression that cars needed autotargeting .50 machine gus on the roof, a hot tub in the back, and a monkey ninja butler.
But your idea might be a bit more feasible.

Honestly, I've learned to look at the wheels when they're parked, but if they don't have to park... I assume they're going straight. Right near my house is awful, though. There's a oneway on a hill that's a seperate road than the main road that's in front of my house. However, the oneway lines up straight as the main road curves. So basically, everyone speeds up from across the bridge to get momentum going up the hill, and since they don't really have to deal with any other cars in other lanes, they just zip up through. I've almost been hit a few times... had horns laid on, been flipped off, etc. Which I went from finding hilarious under the circumstances to the point that if anyone gave me a physical confrontation over them now, there's a very good chance I'd snap. I've already been glaring at people on the way home and "convincing" some to hit their turn signals last minute. Oh, and because of the bridge... there's been a few wrecks. The tow truck company is conveniently right across the street from me.
