So, is Canadian high school really as awesome as Degrassi makes it look?

I've never watched Degrassi, but I do know that high school was boring as hell.

Count me in on never seeing Degrassi, but aside from some minor differences in terms ("Grade 12" as opposed to "12th Grade"), I don't think there was any real difference, based on what I've heard about American high schools.

I love the show.
And Jay is the most loathsome character in the history of television. At least in my experience. He's such a gigantic douchebag.

Actually, where I grew up, Degrassi would be considered a slow news day

I found high school to be more like Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

I found high school to be more like Ferris Bueller's Day Off. You frequently stole your friend's dad's convertable and went to Cubs games?

I have only seen the Degrassi shows made in the 80s. With such characters such as Wheels, Spike, Joey Jeremiah, Snake and Scooter.
But still they were still pretty dramatic for a show aimed at teenagers.

A quick look at IMDb will answer this question: And the answer is yes. Same character and same actor too.

I just remember him being tall and lanky and he had braces. And Joey and Wheels made fun of him for being a virgin in the movie. And check out this trivia entry from the TV movie: Stefan Brogren (Archibald 'Snake' Simpson) has the distinction of dropping the first "F-bomb" in the history of the CBC Television Network. (See "memorable quotes" section. Gojira's note: Don't bother because it's not there....... FAIL!)He is a pioneer ;D
