I can't wait Well, at least Dissidia's coming out. That'll keep me busy.

Yeah Dissidia looks great.
I don't have a PSP, but I'll probably play it on my friend's.

My only hope is that they're able to spice up the fight engine. Most RPGs have the sheer repetition of that as their biggest weakness.

It certainly seems pretty spiced up so far.
But I'm pretty good at handling battle systems, as long as they're not too incredibly dull.

It certainly seems pretty spiced up so far. But I'm pretty good at handling battle systems, as long as they're not too incredibly dull. That was my issue with FF8, the fighting system really just devolved into using the Guardian Forces. I can forgive a tepid combat system, if the story is really good, the same is true for the other way.

Could be fun, and remember, any of the female characters can become an androgynous female with just a little tweaking.

It DOES end up relying too heavily on GFs, but I could forgive it because everything else about the game was so damn amazing.

I think you only really need to rely on GFs during the first half or so of FF VIII... if your magic is properly junctioned later on, your regular attacks (not to mention limit breaks) do so much damage that summoning GFs is really not worth it any more.
Of course that probably gets repetitive as well, but at least you no longer have to watch those long-ass summon animations.

The battle system looks kind of like Crisis Core's to me.

The battle system looks kind of like Crisis Core's to me. Same, just all of it in real time, real time. It is kind of like Crisis Core meets FFXII. I say this because it has the real time free movement combat of Crisis Core, with the real time world of XII. There are no random encounters. All the enemies are on screen, and even will appear on the map.
