I get about one canker sore every year and this one is a real bitch. Does anyone know anything that will make it heal up faster?

Some WWE Kool Aid might help.

I get them anytime I'm overly stressed or I do something foolish like biting my lip. However, I've found a bunch of stuff to help clear them up faster...
Keep your mouth clean. If you're lax on brushing your teeth, get back to it. Get some Listerine and swish at least twice a day. It numbs the sore, and while it won't help it heal, it does help keep your mouth cleaner which will cut down on irritation of the sore.
Kanka gel is great for numbing them out and putting a protective coating over them, which is definitely good for relief.
I tend to avoid highly salty and crumbly snacks like potato chips, though I still engage in entirely too much coffee drinking and spicy food when I've got them, which I've heard can irritate them.
If they're hurting so badly that I'm irritable or distracted by them, I generally resort to a couple ibuprofen to calm them down.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Booty, I'll try to find some of that Kanka stuff around here. And Spence, I tried that already, remember! It didn't work...

If it's open, you can actually swish with salt water like it's mouthwash. the salt will start killing a lot of stuff that, you know, doesn't live in a saline solution. I know it's weird, but it's always worked for me.

I have one right now on my lip. I usually get one about at least once a month. I'm usually surprised and relieved when I feel around my mouth and realize I don't have one.

Try looking for some anthraquinon glycosides salicyclic acid/antibacterial anti-inflammatory analgesic at your local drug store, that could help.
