We're finally getting the current season broadcast here from this Saturday, ironically enough (although like 99% of the Internet, I've seen the first Fey/Palin sketch) but I'd like to know your favourite sketches. I know SNL isn't everyone's cup of tea but for it to last 35 years and counting, they must be doing something right.
My favourites are:
* The Barry Gibb Talk Show - Forget about voices in my head, my mind is on chest hair and crazy cool medallions... * The Spartan Cheerleaders - When all else fails, use the perfect cheer. * ¡ShowBiz Grande Explosion! - Your mother is so stupid. How stupid is she? Your mother is so stupid, the only thing she ever passed is a kidney stone. *rimshot* ¡Ay Dios Mio! *exaggerated sad face* * The Roxbury Guys - For the record, my head-bobbing song is The Brian Kendrick's entrance theme. * Celebrity Jeopardy - Ruff? Just the way your mother likes it, Trebek!
I'd also include Weekend Update, but that's on literally every show.
To be fair, I've only made this judgment based on the last 6 seasons and the various "Best Of..." compilations. But it's all good stuff.
Make some comments, post some videos, let's get talking 'bout SNL.

There is a completely bizzare segment from about 8 years ago that has Molly Shannon and Chris Parnell as a couple wanting to see their baby with Will Ferrell as the uncooperative and insulting doctor. The sketch just gets more and more random as it goes on, the crowning moment being Tim Meadows as Dr. Steven Poop doing the robot. Most of it makes no sense but I always laugh hard when I see it.

Sandler/Farley/MacDonald/Meadows at the Polar Bear exhibit:
Farley: "HE JUST GOT RIPPED APART LIKE SO MUCH VOLLEYBALL!" MacDonald: "'Like so much volleyball?!' What are you, the mighty Thor?"
Canteen Boy
"Let's go back to saying it was a bed bug!"
Inside the Actor's Studio: Clint Eastwood
James Lipton: When you get to Heaven, what would you like God to say to you? Eastwood: "James Lipton is in Hell right now, being raped by the Devil."
And any Saturday TV Funhouse that parodied an old Christmas cartoon from the 60s. Those were always great.

This makes me laugh like nothing else. I think it was written by Tina Fey.

I haven't seen it in years and can't find it online but the skit where John Goodman plays an NFL referee holding a post-game press conference or a call-in show is hilarious.
