Meh, honestly, I liked it.
Definitely one of the better vg to movie kinda movies I've ever seen.
Was it 100% true to the game's plot? No. But it was still pretty damn close. I don't feel it strayed too far off.
In all I enjoyed it, and will see the sequel if they make one. (The post credits scene kinda implies there will be, and he'll be chasing down the Aesir corp old lady, which is good, I was puzzled why he didn't in this one).

I rented it the other day. Was pretty good. It kept some of the details and added some creative licensing.
I didn't like the moments with the slo mo. Too slow, really.

Weird. I just saw it on Bluray tonight and I loved it. I've never played the game so I can't compare it. I hope there's a sequel, I love Mark Wahlberg. All I needed to buy it was seeing the previews. It actually looked really good to me and I got it and don't regret it at all.

Yeah, they did kinda drag, but were still sort of cool to look at. That was one of the weird things about it, I thought. The game was so action oriented, yet there are really only like...three shootouts in the whole film. Granted, they were all good ones, but when compared to the source material, it was kinda like "whuh?" though, in fairness, if Max were just doing his detective work the entire time in the game's format, it probably wouldn't have been as entertaining, while it was entertaining to see him do in the flick.

Another thing, even though it didn't bother me during the viewing.... Where the heck was the film noir?!

It was pretty ok, but I felt it really needed narration throughout the flick to really give it that Max Payne feel.
It also need a tad more action the first half was pretty dragging.
Oh, and they really should have done a Creepshow like thing where when the scene changed it looked like a comic like in the game.

I liked it, but then again I also liked Hitman and not too many people liked that movie. The only issues I had with Max Payne are 1. It started off a little slow and kind of drug along at some points 2. I love Mila Kunis and all, but her as Mona? Really now?

It was probably the best video game movie but that isn't saying very much at all. Overall other movies it was really just plain and kind of slow.
