I thought it was great. Not my favourite Mania, but it was very, very good stuff.

It was pretty cool seeing Cena/HBK, Taker/Batista, MITB III, and Vince getting his head shaved

22 looked much weaker on paper and didn't turn out as strong as 23 did. The entire PPV is basically made by Mickie/Trish and Edge/Foley. Little else really did much for me. I'm a firm believer that WM 22's defining moment was when the entire crowd boo'd Cena. Never was it more clear that people were tired of him.

Yeah it wasnt that good. Especially after how entertaining WM 22 was.
Cena making HBK tap out really just sealed how "meh" the PPV was. I mean when it happened at 22 it sucked that Cena won, but it was still a really memorable and shocking moment, and you wanted to see what would happen with Cena and HHH afterwards. At 23 you kinda expected it and when it happened, people didnt really seem to care...

I thought it was weak card with the only significant build being the awful Trump/Mcmahon storyline but the match quality saved it.

22 looked much weaker on paper and didn't turn out as strong as 23 did. The entire PPV is basically made by Mickie/Trish and Edge/Foley. Little else really did much for me. You kidding? Both title matches were very good (World Title was excellent if too short), MITB was awesome, and HBK/Vince was great. As for 23, good card, but again only 8 matches, and most of the focus was on Lashley/Umaga, two not-that-great workers with neither of their titles on the line, and the focus not really being on them, but on Vince and Trump. I'm trying to rank the Manias from worst to first again (I do so every year, after the current year was inserted), so I'll figure out where this one stands.

Ever since the brand split, I can easily say 23 was by far the worst Wrestlemania.
If I were to rank it, it be something like:
WMXX WM19 WM22 WM24 WM21 WM23
That's not saying it was a bad PPV though, but the card didn't scream "MUST BUY!".
Cena vs HBK sounded good on paper, but their match was anti-climatic and their RAW match was much better New Breed vs Originals, same deal, maybe if they should have added a gimmick, their Extreme Rules match was a lot better on ECW Meline vs Ashley...piss break Khali vs Kane...piss break MITB3, I liked the match, but it still seems to me like the worst of the MitB's so far, possibly better than MitB2 and that's it Lashley vs Umaga was better than I expected, but I would have rather had Lashley defend his title since it was considered a "World Championship" Benoit vs MVP was a great match, but it was the worst in their series Batista vs Taker was the MOTN, but it should have main evented because I quit caring about the show after it was over

23 was meh with me, It just ticked me off that they placed Taker Vs. Batista smack dab in the middle of the show.

Had imo the weakest of the MITBs so far.
Wasn't the new breed/originals match like 5 minutes or something?
Kane match bad
Womens match bad
Cena/HBK wasn't remarkable at all.
Lashmaga was the typical sideshow.
Benoit/MVP was good, Batista/Taker was good.
It could have been a Summerslam.

By no means my fav WM, infact i think it is the weakest of the most recent Mania's. But with that said there are some great elements to it. Cena/HBK would be my match of the night, with Batista/Taker close behind, Beniot/ MVP and Money in the Bank were next which were also great. Meh card wit a few great moments.

It was an ok, PPV. But also a bad Wrestlemania.
Nothing about the show is really memorable. It also bugs me that Taker/Batista got placed in the lower card and the main event between Cena/Michaels almost felt like a remake of the Cena/Triple H match the year before.

I still think that WM 22 is the most underrated WM ever. I mean it was entertaining from top 10 bottom (sans that awful Pillow fight). Trish vs Mickie was one of the best Women's matches ever, HBK vs Vince was just plain AWESOME and serisouly underrated, Edge/Foley was great, Beniot/JBL was way better then it had any right to be, Cena/Triple H solid, Rey/Orton/Angle great if to damn short. I loved WM 22, and think it is way way better then 23 and i just a notch below 24.

Just watched the DVD again yesterday... remember that insane bump that Umaga took when Lashley dodged some kind of charge and Umaga flew out of the ring landing straight on his back?
And Hornswoggle taking the Green Bay Plunge of a ladder - Awesome.

I love the MITB from 23. Very character driven stuff with Matt using Jeff to get revenge on Edge, Booker choosing Sharmell over the briefcase, and Finlay's use and concern over Hornswoggle at the end.
22 just doesn't do anything for me. HHH/Cena had a lousy build with the match seeming uneven,, the World Title triple threat is too short and would have worked better with any one on one combination of the three, JBL/Benoit had better matches on TV, and Shawn/Vince as fun as it is, still basically comes down to Shawn feuding and fighting a non-wrestler for 15 minutes.
Not a bad PPV, but one that I felt was outclassed by the Wrestlemania the year before and after it.

Can't believe so many people like 23 better than 22. I'd put 22 in the top five and 23 in the bottom five. Oh well
