what you ALL forget is that Maat Hardy is somewhat different from lots of other westlers.he was a tv talent for years before he was even properly trained, set up his own proper fed (after years or doing basicly backyard wrestling ) both Hardys are mainly self taught wrestlingwise, Jeff apparently took his mums death VERY hard and its still affecting him tll this day, Matt would actualyy go round all the local buisnesses beggingfor sponsers..
hy because they love the buisness.. and for bischoff to snipe at them in those ways, yes Jeff has problms..but he is WWE champ, Matt is by no means THE guy but damn well deserves his paycheck, its those comments i have issues with

I thought Bischoff was around in late 80's AWA? Yes he was, in the late-80's. Most of the good talent had left by then though.

How many of the wrestlers from bischoff's era are still alive? most of those guys from the 80's abused drugs, not just steroids. Coke/ Crack, weed, friggin' horse steroids, alcohol... whatever they could get their hands on. they blew a fortune on all that crap. he shouldn't get mad at matt for stating that, because plenty of wrestlers ARE in that position now. Just look at the Dynamite Kid.
Matt's right that the business has changed in a sense that the WWE does crack down on drugs and send current and even former wrestlers to rehab, on the WWE's dime. He's been around since the early Monday night raw shows, and has probably dealt with alot of those guys who were still from that hard era of drugs and rock and wrestling.

I had this dream last night that I saw some home movie of Jeff and Matt Hardy being Jackasses. They made big rings out of marble and they were playing ring toss by throwing at them at a kid's head.

Ive got no beef with Bischoff's differing opinion.
But ripping apart Hardy just reeks of being an attention whore

I don't think what says in this blog should be taken seriously. He should look at himself and what went on in WCW during his time there. That era contributed to wrestling's problems as much as any other groups and time period. From what I hear when they would have drug tests and people with test failures were still around working. Everyone I've heard do shoot interviews from that time period talks about how out of control the drug scene was in WCW. A lot of these wrestlers who have passed away have gone through WWE, but they also went through WCW as well. I don't see what Eric did to help anything.

Hardy needs to keep his internet opinions to himself and realize that it's those "80s hasbeens" like Piper, Roberts and Hart who created the business in which an average talent like him can be a world champion. Cos Matt Hardy in 1989 wouldn't be ANYWHERE near the top and would most likely be feuding with Jim Powers on Challenge.
Matt Hardy is an internet geek gone lucky. And it's why the IWC rates him so much, because as he even proclaims himself, he is "one of us". When he lost his job over the Edge-Lita thing, his true persona came out. Youtube videos, excretory matterty homemade promos of himself as a Brandon Lee wannabe in a trenchcoat with a laser gun, his blogs, his whole geekness.
Just watch interviews with him on the WWE DVDs and he KNOWS he lucked into a role and is still lucky to have it. He isn't larger than life, he isn't a star a la Edge or HHH. He is a Hot Topic hangaround who made it in the business simply because they couldn't get rid of him, and he is inexplicably over with the teeny boppers.

Oh and to further prove my point, I remember he once blogged on his myspace that he sat up until 5am adding "thousands" of friends to his myspace account, and couldn't believe the popularity. The dude is a mark for himself. Somehow I couldn't imagine a Roddy Piper or an Undertaker wasting their time on such back-patting and ego-blowing.

Because I'm sure we all have TONS of Female Fans who will give us Bigger pops than Some guys get for Winning just for taking our Shirt off. Hardy isn't just some Lucky putz he was Looking Forward to being a wrestler for years as evidenced by those videos of him and Jeff wrestling on a trampoline in there Backyard How many of us have started there own Promotion? ? Matt is Highly rated around here because he Consistently puts on Good matches. I can't recall who Jim Powers is but I'm pretty sure he Didn't go door to Door begging for Sponsorship for HIS Promotion Piper,Roberts and Hart did alot for this Buisness but Matt accomplished something that a Lot of Guys from the 80's and Even his own brother didn't HE STAYED CLEAN there's no stories of Matt Hardy driving around Drunk of His Ass and Getting pulled over,Theres no Stories of Matt Hardy,Getting Shit-faced off Cocaine and hiding in the corner screaming about Spiders, and There's no stories about Hardy popping LSD and Crapping in a Vase Because he stayed Clean year after year. If Hardy wants to review a movie and say his Peace he can do it. If Bischoff wants to Post some Blog tearing down Matt he can do it. Personally I think Matt is smarter than alot of folks give him credit for he's realized what Bisch is after To get Mentioned by a WWE Superstar. Matt's gone up in my opinion for Having turned the cheek the Other Cheek and not responding to this

That's a little unfair, as in 1989 with the exception of Batista, HBK, HHH, and maybe Orton nobody currently in WWE would have been over then. Different times. If Hogan were to debut tomorrow with the 80's "Real American" gimmick he would tank horribly

I'm sure one of the reasons Matt said that was because he was talking directly about his own generation and to keep on WWE's good side. I don't really agree with him totally but I do think there are a lot more smarter indy guys out there who take care of themselves a lot better than they did in the 80s. Steroids aren't near as big of an issue on the indy scene as it was in the territories. Most of the deaths recently are of guys from Matt's generation though is what Bischoff is getting at. Most of it due to heavy drug abuse.

As has been said, Matt most definately isn't that too far removed from the territory days. I'd even wager that though he is just "a career midcarder" he has actually dealt closely with a greater variety of them. Most of the backstage crew, bookers and agents and such are those guys he is talking about. So, if Matt was truly burning all the old guys with those remarks it would be bad for him. Bischoff and Kevin Arnold's brother are still trying to market Hogan anyway they can and he has talked about getting a promotion going again. If he does so you know it will be with Hogan and the mandatory tag alongs like the Nasties and Brother Bruti. Of course Bisch doesn't want us to remember Brutus lost his ticket taking job in a subway a few years ago because his coke was mistaken for anthrax. Matt just came off as someone who put out an opinion that may be harsh but was an honest viewpoint. Bischoff just came off as sycophant.

How dare he actually appreciates having fans and takes the time to communicate to them! Someone needs to knock an ego into him! And not once does he call anyone a "80s has-been".

Seeing as Matt is just repeating the company line like a stooge here, I don't really care how far Bischoff goes over the line in criticizing him. Just last month two wrestlers from Matt Hardy's generation died at least in part because of drug problems. I really don't know who the WWE is trying to convince here.

Is this the official company line on the movie, I wonder? "Praise it because it's might very well win Oscars but also declare it an antiquated view of the wrestling world"? If it is, I can't blame them. Also, Bischoff...WTF?
