I voted flop
.............FLOP
Sorry, but I've been waiting to do that one a while now. It may not be a financial disaster since it is going straight to video, but I don't foresee it being a huge success either.

It's straight to DVD, its like trying to avoid being the worst runner in a race by claiming you weren't trying.
So following the letter of the law, not a flop. But a flop in the spirit of it.

Since it's direct to DVD with a good marketing campaign towards fans of his plus being an action movie, even more plus being a sequel with a semi-recognizable name...most likely not.
If it were released to theatres, there would be a bigger chance of failure. WWE Films strive on DVD, though (Cena's Marine brought in over $30 million from DVD sales).
So, it'll break even or make a profit, in my opinion.

I don't know what the standards are for direct to DVD to be considered flops, but it would probably have to be low. I would guess that it would sell better than most direct to DVD releases.

It'll probably open in the 'teens on the Top 20 DVD Sales chart.

Since it is SDVD more than likely it won't. I might give it a rent for kicks and giggles.

It'll make a profit I'm sure, its a popular franchise, as some have mentioned, and it's been given steady promotion. Don't forget about the OnDemand aspect, as well. They'll make money from that, too.

Usually that's not too good.

I don't think it's possible for a direct to DVD film to flop.
To flop means that the film was expected to do really well by someone, then failed to come close to expectations. I don't think anyone expects a direct to DVD film to do "well" by those terms.

It'll make some money given that it's straight to dvd. I don't think it'll be really significant by any stretch, but can't think it'll be a flop.

I think the people saying it's going to flop are being extremely cynical.
I'm very sure that it's been proven that people will rent just about ANYTHING, and to be honest..this is probably a lower end action movie that's still better than some of the dreck that loiters on many movie rental shelves nationwide.
Is it a five star cinema classic that will blow Casablanca and Citizen Kane out of the water? Definitely not, but it's not like B-movies don't have a market to themselves.
Plus, I'm sure this was made on a low budget, and will easily recoup back its production costs and make a little coin. It'll only flop in that it won't outsell/outrent The Dark Knight or Death Race, which describes practically every movie on the market right now.
