So, I start my new job in two weeks and put in two weeks notice today. When I did this my boss was very upset. He is a very racist and petty person and I know he will make my life a living in hell in these next two weeks. I am seriously thinking about just walking out on him, if he gives me any kind of trouble at all and just start my new job early. What do you guys and gals think I should do?

If you can put in the two weeks do it. Sure might feel good to 'screw em over', but it's way better not to burn any bridges, just in case. There are always exceptions sure, but if you can do it, I would.

I would but my financial situation won't allow it, if I quit and walk out tomorrow the most I would take off is the rest of the week and start on Monday.

There are always exceptions sure, but if you can do it, I would. I already put in the two weeks. I have already quit this job once before with no notice whatsoever and they took back with arms wide open. But that was the regional who took me back, the new manager (the racist and petty one) didn't want me back at all because of previous managment that I have worked with and he had been fired, for doing some shady things under the table.

Eh, that may be an exception then. That's cool, I was more speaking generally.

I'd stick out the 2 weeks. But if he does anything bad towards you, especially racial then report him.

Report him anyway. At least then, you've put your word out there and it SHOULD be on record. If something serious were to come down the pipe later for this guy that you'd be somehow contacted about, you don't want to be the guy who didn't say anything.

at my last job, my supervisor was a racist foreigner who could barely speak english . He had NO respect for anyone, made everyones life a living hell. Lying to us about company policies, pretending the higher ups would come in for inspection when in actuallity they would be in a different state. So as soon as I got my current job , I told him off big time. and to my surprise and delight 4 other people in my group walked out with me. so he went from having 7 people to 2. that showed him

If you've already got the new job lined up, I would leave, especially if he's that much of an ass.

In today's job market, I wouldn't burn any bridges. Don't leave yourself with no options, since even a crappy job right now is better than no income. Something may not work out at Big Lot's, and it'd be bad to have shut down any chance of supplication from your old position when the bills start to stack up.

Well even if you already have a second job, stick with it because you just never know. Don't burn bridges even if he is an ass. Your lucky you where able to even go back the last time. Because just about all places once you walk before a two week or no notice. Your not allowed you go back.
I gave my two weeks at my last job and now here I am a little passed a year. Needing of a second job. Being I gave my two weeks and knowing a store manager at Big Lots (Kinda funny how The Booty Disciple said the same company). I got rehired for a part time deal. But I left of the best terms and now it paying off because it got me out of a bind. Which just shows that your never know.

Unless I'm mistaken, he's currently at Aaron's, and he's leaving for a management position at Big Lots.

No matter what the guy does, just smile and do your work the way you'd always do it. Chances are he doesn't want you to walk out before your 2 weeks are up because it'd leave him in a jam while he finds your replacement. He just wants to abuse you. So piss him off royally by not letting him get under your skin.

Take a micro recorder with you. When he comes around, hit record. If anything should transpire, now you have proof to take to corporate.

How is Big Lots doing in wake of the economy? Is it in trouble, or are sales up? If that's where you going to work, I'd look out and make sure there's some security where you're going. I'd take the job anyways, it's just easy to do and would be nice to know. The Big Lots here is dead. No one ever goes in there.
