Just think of a playoff game where it's in double-overtime. It's exciting, you're on the edge of your seat in anticipation (or dread)..there's amazing saves, great goal chances, etc...I would put that up against the Super Bowl/World Series anyday.
You can get an "average" game be the most exciting thing you've seen in ages.
Probably most people think it's the Canadian thing with all those "fights".

Maybe if the Wings lowered their ticket prices, maybe they'd sell out.

The idea of a team in Hamilton scares the Leafs and the Sabres (Sabres more) they count on the Canadian fans to buy tickets to come down here. I remember when the Sabres were under NHL control and nearly died out if not for the lockout. But as they always say winning cures everything and now for the most part it sells out even with tickets crazy high. Though if the Sabres don't make the playoffs again this year they could go back in the bottom of attendance again.

I want justice from this game. Toronto, the refs trying to screw us. I demand restitutions

4-2 Devils win against the Rags. So the rightful order of things has returned.
Also 12 goals in two games against the queen... RAISE that GAA.

That Devils win was almost worth sitting through two straight shutouts for. Almost.
Seriously, that was an incredibly sharp win for NJ, they completely outplayed the Rangers outside of maybe a few minutes in the 3rd. To be fair, NY did create some beautiful chances near the end of the 2nd, but Clemmer was up to the task (and then some. Holy crap he looked great).
Also big because Philly and Pitt both lost in regulation.

Caps beat the Leafs 4-1. Caps are now 2nd in the Eastern Conference behind the Bruins. Ovechkin had 2 goals.

I feel bad for Clemmensen sometimes. The man is doing a great job between the pipes for the Devils, but once Brodeur comes back, he'll probably just be on the bench for the rest of the season and the postseason. Hopefully the Devils will be smart to play him once in a while in the future.

That's right:
The Boston Bruins are tied for 1st place in the NHL. And that's without Bergeron, Sturm, Ference or Nokelainen.

Russian investigators have concluded that Alexei Cherepanov had engaged in blood doping. The investigators are basing their findings on urine and blood samples. The investigation concluded that Cherepanov had been blood doping for several months, but they didn't provide many details beyond that. Cherepanov tragically passed away after he collapsed while on the bench for Omsk club Avangard during a KHL game on October 13th. In his final year, Cherepanov had been suffering from a condition where not enough blood gets to the heart called myocarditis. With that condition he reportedly should have not been playing hockey. It is possible that the club's medical team could be legally liable in this case. The doctors arrived 12 minutes after Cherepanov had collapsed and the battery on the defibrillator used to attempt to bring Cherepanov's heart back was drained. www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=261215

I don't mind the running the score up part though. That's gotta be one of the biggest squashes ever in hockey. I missed this game and didn't hear anything about it until your post. Any hat tricks??

THIS is the biggest hockey squash in history (or atleast part 1 of 3 of it) Jamie Benn I believe had the only hat trick for Canada.
