Damnit Islanders you had to beat the Rangers and you couldn't even do that... at least they put 4 up on Henrik.

Canada slips by Kazakhstan 15-0 in World Juniors. Not good...don't run the score up. The may get to do it again tomorrow night against the Germans....not good. 15 - 0?!?!? Holy cow. I don't mind the running the score up part though. That's gotta be one of the biggest squashes ever in hockey. I missed this game and didn't hear anything about it until your post. Any hat tricks?? It's kind of forgiveable because this tournament uses goals to break ties, so the more you can get the better. Also, from the 6 minutes I caught, Canada wasn't going out of their way to score, they weren't letting up, but giving Canada a 7 minute power-play in the last 6 minutes probably wasn't the best idea. They didn't get many on Germany tonight, 5-1, we'll see what New Years Eve brings when they play the US and a team that can actually compete with them.

It means they won't be playing each other for gold, though really, that game likely is for the gold really anyway Haven't seen what Russia looks like, though I believe they're doing wll.

USA wins 12-0. The US/Canada match should be a good one.

The Penguins are sucking in a big way right now. Only injuries of note are on our third & forth lines. Sid has been stagnant and Geno hasn't been doing all that well either. Kind of expected once Fleury got back that they'd snap up a bit and play.. but it's just.. ICK. Granted, the Bruins are a hot team right now and are having one hellova winning streak.
Just really don't know what to say at this point. Rumors are that there's a division in the locker room. Those looking to Malkin for leadership since he's been the more consistent player and those who stand behind Sid the Kid since he's got that C on his shirt. He'd apparently been calling out players in the locker room that he didn't feel were playing up to snuff and that was said to piss many off. One of those 'look in the mirror' kind of things.
Therrien is trying to get more toughness in the line up by bringing some bangers up from WBS, but Shero keeps sending them back down. Until the Pens take a solid physical stand, Malkin & Crosby are going to get bounced around a lot and spend a ton of time laying on the ice.

Isn't this what everyone said would happen when they lost Gary Roberts? Granted, he wound up in Tampa and they suck big time, but it seems like this was completely predicted.

What... having no leadership, character or grit on the team ? Uh.. yeah. Just sucks to have two of the best scorers in the game and one of the top goalies and still not be able to be at the top of the division. At this point, we look to be going from Stanley Cup Finalists to not even making the playoffs. Fire the coach dammit ! Fire the GM ! No.. wait, they'll trade Jordan Staal. Yeah, that'll fix everything
