After watching In Living Color and the Cosby Show, I miss the days when black culture and hip-hop was actually about something. When they talked and sang and rapped about socially conscious topics, instead of women, booze, and possessions. When the style was big gaudy ugly bright colors.

Original ECW on at 2 am. Half the show was a big commercial about their merchandise but the 20 minutes of wrestling in that hour they gave was pure awesomeness.
Paying 6 dollars to see a GREAT wrestling card every Monday night at the Greenville Memeriol Auditorioum. They would have cage matches, Bullrope matches and even though it wasnt on Tv, you always had the belief their would be a title change and sometimes there would be!
Watching new episodes of The Incredible Hulk on Friday nights after Dukes of Hazzard

Old fashioned "mean take excessive liberties question their ethics throw a stapler teachers". I had many teachers like that and hated them but for some reason I miss those kinds of teachers. Kids today with their sappy sweet do gooder politically correct teachers will never know whats its like to really fear the teacher. Thats why many have little respect for authority in the school. Can't even hardly yell at the students anymore. Wheres the Joe Clarks of the world when you need them?
I miss the RAX in my area as well. Uncle Alligator and his buffet. I wish I would have made a chart of extinct or endangered restaurants.

First post. Thought this was a good place to start.
Reading these makes me realize that, as much as people say "the 90's sucked," a lot of cool stuff happened too. For me, I miss these:
-Old Nickelodeon. It was awesome back then. Especially Legends of the Hidden Temple and GUTS. -Monday Night Wars. And along with them, WCW and ECW too. -Cartoon Network when it first came out. -Pantera.
Other than that though: -Good Metallica. Cliff Burton too. -Most of the wrestlers that have died far too soon. -Video stores other than Blockbuster. I know they still exist but...not really, and not where I live anway. -Pizza flavored Doritos.

Space Shooter video games like Super R-Type, Gradius, Xevious, and even Star Fox and X Wing. Game systems have the potential now to make mind blowingly amazing Space Shooters but I think the consensus is that the genre is dead, which is a shame. Seconded. I recommend trying Aegis Wing on XBox Live Arcade if you haven't yet. It's a nice throwback to that genre, and it's free to XBox Live members. Thanks for the recommendation. I really do miss those games; my brother, who lived through the, well, Golden Age of those games gets pretty nostalgic when those games get mentioned or a "Arcade Classics" compliation comes out that has an old shooter on it.
