Alan Rickman was in both Dogma and Galaxy Quest. He's done comedy before, pretty good comedy at that. In fact, his dry wit in Dogma is one of the film's many, many high points. Metatron, right? Forgot all about him. Thanks for the reminder....now I want to go and watch it again! ;D Yep, Metatron. I also just remembered that he was in Love Actually. Sure it is a romantic comedy, but it is a British romantic comedy, and those are funny. He also was the voice of Marvin the Manic Depressed Robot in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Actually, now that I think about it, he's been in a lot of comedy films....

I wanna see Tom Hanks do a straight up comedy-he is hilarious. I know it's not a complete "straight up" comedy, but tom Hanks early films are hilarious. Particuarly Money Pit. Oh i know, it's just seems like its been soooo long

Hoffman also did a comedic turn in Along Came Polly, and almost saved the movie.

Robert De Niro.
The ONLY reason I saw "The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle" was to see De Niro as Fearless Leader immitating Travis Bickle.
Edit: I forgot about the "Meet the Parents" movies...

Oh i know, it's just seems like its been soooo long I chose to seek it out after this thread reminded me, and watching it sometime this week. It IS a long-time. Twenty three years man, older than me lol. Id like Will Smith to do an all out comedy now, his films are "funny" but I mean one that is set for straight comedy. Not romantic comedy, or animated, a straight out FRESH PRINCE MOVIE

You wouldn't say that if you'd seen it. I thought it was dreadful. No, it was good.

I wanna see Tommy Lee Jones in a comedy, and this time he's not the straight man. He plays the goofy sidekick and Rowdy Roddy Piper plays the straight man. Rowdy Roddy Piper is Lester "Scotch" McBride. Tommy Lee Jones is James "Soda" Pops. These 2 buddy cops are gonna clean up the streets. When the day is done, everyone will cheer for ... Scotch and Soda.Okay, that was lame, but I made it that way ... Here is a blank check, sir. Write down any amount you want and make this happen immediately.

Has Liam Neeson been in any even half-comedic films? He was in Love Actually and Leap of Faith, but I suppose those don't qualify. I only say that because Leap of Faith didn't make me laugh, and I haven't seen Love Actually.
