Why the snork are we thinking this is what will happen?
I mean, god bless em if they don't and still leave the culprit of the accidents a mystery, but I see it being another lame "Gawd, I hate you Jeff! I really do! I crashed yer car! I blew up yer face! Jealousy! Anger! Rawr!!" that backfires.

I was thinking about some of the possibilities of the new Hardy's program, and one that interested me came to mind. What if it was a last ditch effort to protect Jeff before washing his hands of the burden of responsibility for Jeff's well-being? Imagine if Matt cuts the following promo when asked to explain himself: "I know what you are thinking. You're thinking, "How could he do that to his own flesh and blood?" Believe me, it was not easy, but I believe that I had to do it. It disgusts me that it was what was necessary, but I can live with what I did because now I know that he can too." "Jeff, you know that I have always had your back throughout your entire life. I have been there for the good, but I have also been there for all of the bad. Many people have always assumed that you were destined for greater things than me, but those that truly know us understand that is partly because I have sacrificed so much of myself to get you there. Don't get me wrong, all the career opportunities that I have passed up or lost sight of to help you achieve your goals, I have no complaints about. They were my choice, and I made them for the right reasons." "Recently, however, I have not had enough in myself to fight your battles for you. Dad and I could have lost you in that car wreck, and that incident with the pyro could have gone much worse than it did. Someone does not want you near the WWE title, and apparently they do not care how badly they have to hurt you to get what they want. Unfortunately, I cannot protect you anymore from the bad things that can happen in life. That is why I had to do what I did." "I tried to fight your most recent battles for you, just like always. What did it get me? Beaten down by three men last Friday on Smackdown, and I had lost my focus on my own business. I lost the ECW title to Jack Swagger because I was distracted, and I did not regain that title at the Royal Rumble for much the same reason. Unfortunately, I am at a point in my career that I have been before, and like every other time family distractions threaten to derail me again. " "The thing is, I am not young anymore. I cannot keep tossing opportunities aside for you Jeff. Not anymore. I protected you one last time, Jeff. I removed the reason for all of the attacks against you. If you are smart, you would recognize that and take advantage of it. Be safe, and use the safety to figure out who was behind it all and deal with the issue. Either that, or just be safe and float around aimlessly like you often tend to do. Either way, Dad won't have to mourn something happening to you. It nearly killed him to lose Mom. I won't have him lose you as well." "You can be mad at me all you want, Jeff. You can even hate me. I would not blame you. Just know that I robbed you of your dream not out of hate, jealousy, or any petty emotion. I did it out of love. Now I must take care of my own business, and I hope that you have grown up enough to take care of your own without me shouldering half of your load." The benefits could be multiple for that being his motivation. It would make a reconciliation a few years from now more acceptable. It still allows for the "whodunit?" angle to continue. Jeff's indignation and lack of appreciation can still draw out the heel in Matt while doing so in a more realistic manner. I also think the angle could mirror the HBK/Jericho one in which it took some build-up for the heel/face lines to truly be drawn. What do you think? Sounds a lot better than "and you were too damn selfish, and that's why I hit your head out from your...head..." If Matt said this word for word I would become his biggest fan.

It would be a good route, still leavingmthe opening for Christian to be revealed as the attacker...but more than likely we'll get the whole jealous brother routine.
Jeff was WWE Champ while Matt was just ECW Champ.
No doubt, we'll also get the line "you never even gave me a title shot!"

Edge and Hardy v.s. Jeff and Christian?
Well, it wouldn't be the norm. I liked Heel Hardy back in the day. Welcome back V.1

I see it becoming Edge vs. Jeff vs. Matt & Christian with both M&C playing the jealous brother role, but Jeff and Edge still feuding with each other before going onto feuding with their brothers.

The stress of losing his title, leading to him not wanting his brother to also be champ. He said he'd do ANYTHING to make sure Jeff Hardy was a champion just like he was. so he lost his title, and then he lost his rematch. I'm thinking it all came together on one night, at the rumble. It wasn't him who tried to kill his brother, instead it was somebody else, it was just on that night it was jealousy taking over. It's just to bad that neither Hardy is all that great on the mic, this feud would have tons of mileage if either could cut an emotionally charged promo. Matt Hardy is the Owen Hart to Brett. See you spelled Bret wrong, I don't know why so many people can spell Owen Hart. But can't spell Bret Hart. It's always "Brett Hart, Bret Heart, Brett Heart". But people can't spell Bret Hart?

And should Matt use this as his excuse for attacking Jeff, Chris Jericho would need to be the first person to come up to him and say he did the right thing. And not because he did the same to Randy Orton just before the Rumble, but because it's just the same kind of mentality Jericho would have.

I think I would've preferred an accidental looking chair shot to Jeff versus the blatant with Jeff assuming now Matt was responsible, Christian then returning saying Matt paid him, and Edge trying to gain Jeff's trust..
Only Matt not being responsible at all with E&C orchestrating the whole thing.. and taking some elements of Sting/Luger when Luger thought Sting had turned nWo which led to the Crow Sting to make Matt into a loner character out only for himself, but eventually allies with Jeff because he can't overcome E&C himself.
And of course, you have a TLC match with The Hardyz vs E&C and THEN you have Matt turn full heel saying that's what Jeff gets for not trusting him.

There's no way that they'll let Matt rationalize it in an ambiguous way, because there's no way that that helps get Jeff over even more than he already is.
To WWE, all Matt is, is a tool to help Jeff get more and more over.

If he explains himself Mike Knox style then I will mark. "Jeff, I may have hit you on the head with a chair, but in all honestly, I don't know why I did that...." I'm thinking more of Charlie Haas/Viscera attacking Lillian style. "I could tell you why I hit Jeff Hardy... ...but I won't."

Care to hear my ideal bookings for the HBK, Miz and Morrison, and Orton storylines while I am at it? Um, yes! This is so simple, yet so utterly brilliant. Of course creative would never do this, cause all wrestling fans are simple-minded rednecks who f*** their sisters and molest chickens.

This idea earns the ol'.... I'm sure that in the realm of possibilities there exists a better idea, but I'm not so sure about the WWE using one. If its the old "I R JEALOUS!!! U WAZ CHAMPS AND ME NOT!!!" nonsense I won't be too shocked.
