yeah, i think most of this boiled down to a few crossed wires. neither was really acting that badly at the time (except maybe angle, he should've taken the handshake IMO), but puder's been acting like an ass ever since. he may have "hurt kurt", but he's done absolutely nothing that major in wrestling or MMA since.

Regardless of whether Puder had Angle or otherwise, Puder was an idiot. And I will gladly say that anyone who agrees with what he did is also an idiot.
He had the opportunity to expose himself to the higher ups in the e that he was miles ahead in terms of physical fitness and martial arts knowledge - two obviously important things to most of the veterans - and what did he do? He tried to take advantage of a person who
1. had prolonged physical injuries without the appropriate amount of time to recover fully, 2. has been in an industry where the aim is not to hurt the opponent in reality, AND before that a sport where the idea is to pin someone down and NOT push the opponent's body into the point of breaking.
Now, anyone with a bit of intelligence would see the opportunity and actually work to make it look good for both sides. End result would be a higher revised payout and possible side income from merchandising. As it is he's stuck in a rut with the only thing to his name is that he (supposedly) hurt Kurt Angle.
A little bit of humility would have seen him gone a long way in at least one of the industries.

Angle broke the ribs of the competitor who was in the ring with him before Puder, and asked for anyone who wanted to challenge him to do so. He and WWE put Puder in that position.

Because Angle definitely broke his ribs on purpose. And he did it using a move that had no other purpose other than to cause physical damage. If I was running the e I would definitely allow one of my employees and an external party get involved in a sanctioned wrestling match. If I let them go at it and someone got hurt with intent, ie an actual submission hold, I'd get my ass sued so fast it's not funny. I have no idea what they were going for, and I doubt anyone outside of the e does, but looking at it from a legal angle I cannot say what Puder did was a smart move. In any case the fact that Puder chose the idiotic way out does not waver.

I liked Puder, he actually put effort into the competitions. He was the only one to actually kiss Mae Young, thats dedication. Plus he did a crappy Kimura on Angle.
I wanted him to win more than miz. But I guess we have to settle with what we get. Miz has since redeemed, but during the early days... when he said Buck-kini Contest... I seriously hoped Puder would appear and pull him into a locker.
