World Wrestling Entertainment has signed yet another second generation talent to a developmental deal. Tavita Fifita, the son of former WWF and WCW star Haku, signed last week with the company and will be starting with Florida Championship Wrestling shortly.

If he's as tough as his father, he'll do just fine. Haku's one of the toughest guys I've ever heard of.

Why do some people get annoyed about second or third generation wrestlers being signed so often? Where do they think the likes of Bret Hart, Curt Hennig, Randy Savage, Ted DiBiase etc got their interest in wrestling from?

Well I think what some people get annoyed about is when these second generation wrestlers are signed when they have no wrestling experience whatsoever. Ted DiBiase Jr was first offered his contract despite having no experience. He turned it down so he could get some experience first as he rightly thought it wasn't fair on other wrestlers busting their asses and having to fight for a contract. Also Wes Brisco was offered a developmental contract with no wrestling experience.

Awesome, a 2nd generation Haku!!!
Hopefully Manu stays around long enough for them to form a new Islanders style team.
I have no problem with all the 2nd (or 3rd) generation guys being signed. They have a good family heritage in the business, meaning they should have some level of natural talent for it and they should already understand the aspects of it well enough, like the travel, and things like that. So might as well give them a try and see what they've got. Plus, it's not like they are being signed and put on TV the next day, they are going to developmental to see exactly what kind of talent they do have.
If an ex-WWE star has a son or daughter who has an interest in it, I would give them a tryout too.

It can't be any worse than the old territory days, when guys were given the belt simply because their dad was the promoter. At least this way, there are objective trainers and agents in place to assess a guy's potential. I guess it does suck for some young guys who don't have inside connections, but that goes for any profession you might want to enter.

The issue is some of them get a free pass just because of who they are. Also, some feel special treatment is due to them because of who their dad is. Others just do as they want because they think they can't be fired. My question is: How badass is Haku's son? I know I wouldn't want Haku mad at me, but idk a thing about his son.
