so i purchased the new MLB 2K9 game friday ( horrible game by the way, stay away from it) and I have yet to be able to complete one game withouth it either freezing, starting to make a "tick tick tick" noise then freezing, or having the commentary stop then a few innings later....freezing again!
so my question is, I know walmart wont give me a refund because its opened, and that they will only let me exchange it for another copy of the game.. but ive read how ALOT of people r having the same problems as me so I know if i jsut exchange it I will have the same problem!
If i was to go in and get another copy of the game, and NOT open it... would I be able to return the new unopened copy of the game and get a full refund since Its unopened?
I wouldnt mind the game if i was able to play ONE FREAKIN GAME!

You could try and explain to them the problem.
And if they don't let you exchange it for a different game, then just sell it on eBay or something.

yeah... i think it might work.. I wouldnt mind buying a shitty game because Ive done it before but when you pay 60 bucks for a game and get t play 3 innings before it freezing thats ridicilious. I think i will take back my copy now for a new copy, and not open it then return it later tonight....

No, when you exchange the game they'll end up opening it then and there themselves just so you can't try and do that. There is a chance that whoever is helping you will forget to do that, but that's how they're supposed to do it.
Your best shot is just to explain the situation to them and how it's a known problem and you don't want to risk running into the same problem. If they give you trouble, ask for a manager (calmly) and explain the same thing to the manager.

A lot of times they will open the new copy so you can't just return it without questions.
If a person working there has half a brain, you may be ok. Try explaining, if it doesn't work ask to see a manager.

I'd guess that you're SOL. Just hope that 2K Sports releases a patch to fix all the problems, or sell it on eBay to an unsuspecting victim.

they already have a patch for it, and it doesnt work! Thats never a good sign when a patch is released before a game even hits the market.

They'll open it for you right then and there.
Depending who waits on you, they might allow you to return it for store credit.
Just explain the circumstances of the game.

yeah, even though Wal-mart has a policy, depending on who it is, they can be pretty lax. I always able to get either store credit or even cash once, but that might have just been because I was a kid.

Yeah, Wal-Mart does get pretty lax on stuff. Yeah it depends on the person behind the counter. I took back a tape recorder once(it was working but it was a crappy one that got a lot of fuzz) and they took it back and I got a full non-store credit refund in cash.

If it's defective, and a lot of them are, you probably need to get in touch with the makers themselves

Target is also very lax on returns. I returned a piece of furniture there because I broke it trying to put in together and I didnt return all of the parts and they didnt even bother to check the contents and I still got a full refund.

Wal-mart is usually pretty good about video game returns, at least the ones by me are.

As a Wal-Mart associate, I feel it necessary to inform you of the policy.
Do you have the receipt? If so, and it's been less than 90 days since original purchase, you can get a replacement copy, or barring that(out of stock, defective merch) a store credit on a Wal-Mart money card.
However, what you want to do is ask to talk to the ELECTRONICS M.S. They are the ones in charge of that department and they get all the info on defectives and the like. They are the ones that can/will confirm the issue and make sure you get what you deserve.
Hope I helped.

I think in some cases they will actually give you money back if you bother them enough. Some kid was there the other night, while I was trying to get my replacement xbox. He said "i bought this, and then my brother got it too, so I want to return it. (it being opened PS3 Street Fighter IV). He just kept on with the "come on man...come on."

Is 2k9 the only baseball game on the 360? Did EA just quit making baseball games? Or is this a case where the 2k series got the exclusive rights to the game?
I snorking hate the exclusive rights garbage. snork EA and snork 2k.
