Since the highly anticipated film is drawing closer and closer everyday, It's time we had an official Watchmen Thread. Keep all talk of the book/film in this topic. It should be regularly updated. First off, here is the brand new Japanese trailer with loads of amazing new footage: And you can view the 10th Production Journal about the Minutemen Characters and all the previous trailers at this link: www.apple.com/trailers/wb/watchmen/

I'll either go dressed up as Comedian, Ozymandias, Rorschach, Nite Owl II, Doctor Manhattan, or one of the male Minutemen.

I LOVE the comic, but I'm not excited for the movie.
I think it's because I hold the book up on such a high pedestal and I think the movie version can only be shit.

I love the comic.. and am warily curious about the film. I will say every new trailer has swayed me from, "they shouldn't make a movie about it" to " maybe they'll do a good job with it"

I bought the book last weekend, and finished it in one night. Completely ripped my mind to shreds for a little while. AMAAAAAAAZING book.
I can't wait for the movie.

I got Absolute Watchmen some time back, offa Wal-mart's website of all places for forty bucks.. which when it usually sells for seventy five was quite awesome. I'll read it again soon. It's great how oversized it is, as Gibbons art is HUGE, so the tricks he came up with are even more impressive. Plus there's a sketchbook too. Great stuff.

Is that where the outtake with Rorschach in a full body suit comes from, Slim? Or is that just some fanart I've been seeing?

I'll either go dressed up as Comedian, Ozymandias, Rorschach, Nite Owl II, Doctor Manhattan, or one of the male Minutemen. I'm going as the guy from Tales of the Black Freighter.

Brand new viral site: www.thenewfrontiersman.net/Nothing much on it yet, but it should start unveiling stuff sometime next week. And here's a load of brand new photos: www.totalfilm.com/media/17363Also, the movie tie in version of Tales of the Black Freighter has been given an R rating for Violent and Grisly Images. For those you who don't know, when the Watchmen movie is released on DVD there will be a version of the film that has the Tales from the Black Freighter story inserted back into the film along with all the cut footage.

I know it was implied in the graphic novel, but is the movie going to say that the Comedian killed JFK?

The Japanese trailer in the opening post has the JFK assassination and then it skips to a clip of The Comedian on a grassy knoll with a rifle running away.
