We have reached Round 30!
In the event of a tie both will carry on to the next day to meet some other challenger. I will try and vary the sources from comics to TV show characters.
I'm also going to add a bit of story to this to make it interesting, it's still a favorite poll but it's going to have continuity!
I will happily take requests for future opponents. But in the meantime we have to continue the story ...
--------------------------------------
*Previously Tony Stark aka Ironman was being held captive by Deathstroke on a plane for the sinsiter plans of Diablo. At the moment Tony is on his own tied to a chair as Deathstroke has gone into the flight cabin ... the door opens and Slade returns.*
Deathstroke: So do you want the good news or the bad news?
Tony Stark: I want you to know that soon I'll ...
Deathstroke: Stop. No one is going to save you no one even knows your here. The good news is that the plane will be landing soon, the bad news is that Diablo is incompetant and I'm taking over his operation. Goodbye Ironman!
*Deathstroke raises his pistol and fires, Tony Stark falls back in his chair dead. The plane lands and the back entrance opens. Waiting on the landing strip is Diablo and some minions.*
Diablo: Well done Deathstro ... HE'S DEAD! What have you done!
Deathstroke: What my name implies and Diablo its your turn.
*Deathstroke raises his gun and aims at Diablo*
Diablo: You'll have to do better than that Slade
*Diablo shouts for his minions to attack and flips a pellet creating some sort of rock creature*
*Can Deathstroke claim another victim or is Diablo going to turn him to stone?*
Deathstroke
(Slade Wilson), is a supervillain and sometime anti-hero in the DC Comics Universe. He is a mercenary and assassin who is imbued with enhanced physical prowess by secret army experiments attempting to create metahuman soldiers for the U.S. military. However, he kept this career secret from his family, even though his wife was an expert military combat instructor, until a criminal named the Jackal kidnapped his younger son, Joseph, as a hostage to force Slade to divulge the name of a client who had hired him as an assassin. Slade refused to do so, claiming that it was against his personal honor code, and attacked and killed the kidnappers at the rendezvous. Unfortunately, Joseph's throat was slashed by one of the criminals before Slade could prevent it, destroying his vocal cords and rendering him mute. After taking Joseph to the hospital, Slade's wife Adeline, enraged at his endangerment of her son, tried to kill Slade by shooting him, but only managed to destroy his right eye. Afterward, his confidence in his physical abilities was such that he made no secret of his impaired vision, marked by his mask which has a black featureless half covering his lost eye. Without his mask, Slade wears an eyepatch. Slade has a long history as an enemy of the Teen Titans. In Identity Crisis, Deathstroke was enlisted as a bodyguard for Doctor Light, who was being chased by the Justice League. In the ensuing battle, Deathstroke nearly beat the team of Elongated Man, the Flash (Wally West), Zatanna, Hawkman, Green Arrow, Black Canary, the Atom, and Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner). He systematically took out every member except for Rayner, whom he had the potential to disable through trying to usurp his ring's energies using his own formidable willpower. But before the outcome of this conflict with Rayner ended, Green Arrow stuck an arrow in Deathstroke's right eye socket, enraging him. Slade went ballistic and began to beat Green Arrow, but was stopped when the majority of the team tackled Deathstroke to the ground. These include the strength of ten men, heightened speed, agility, stamina and reflexes. He has the capacity to use up to 90% of his brain making him a combat skills and tactical genius. Deathstroke also possesses a regenerative factor in his blood that enables him to heal from physical injury much faster than a normal person. This has also made him effectively immortal, enabling him to recover from what would otherwise be fatal injuries, though recovering from what would be a fatal injury renders him insane and animalistic for a short period. He is also a highly formidable opponent in physical combat to the point that even Batman can only fight him into a stalemate.
vs
Diablo
Esteban Corazón de Ablo was a powerful alchemist in 9th Century Saragossa, who sold his soul to the demon Mephisto to lengthen his life far beyond a human span. Taking the name Diablo, he is a practitioner of alchemy, science based upon the transmutation of elements, and has attained mastery of the alchemical sciences with his genius intellect. He was educated by tutors in ninth century Spain, and is self-educated in alchemy and modern sciences. Diablo has extended his life and youthfulness. He can render the flesh of his face and body pliable, enabling him to alter his appearance, and can temporarily change his form to "nerveless protoplasm," rendering him invulnerable to certain forms of harm. Diablo employs a huge arsenal of alchemical potions he has discovered or concocted, that he can conceal in hidden pouches and pockets within his costume. His alchemy, which can transmute elements through means unknown to modern science, enables him to control his own body, the bodies of others, or inorganic matter. His mixtures include nerve gas pellets, sleeping potions, a potion that renders a person inert by rapidly lowering their body temperature, pellets that make a person susceptible to Diablo's hypnotic commands, other potions and pellets that enable him to transmute inorganic matter, create explosive blasts and create beings known as elementals that are composed of ancient alchemical "elements" of earth, fire, air, and water. With few exceptions, all of Diablo's potions and pellets have only temporary effect. He also has alchemical potions which grant him teleportation. Primarily a foe of the Fantastic Four he has also clashed with the Avengers, Spider-man and Doctor Doom. He is also responsible for bringing Dragonman to life and in one instance aided the Fantastic Four in driving the chaos demon Shuma-Gorath back to its home dimension.
