And I didn't really mean to come off like I didn't think Friday the 13th was just a cheap jack ripoff of things that came before it. I know full well the influence the film had, as it and its sequels were among the first horror films I'd ever seen. And in addition to the immediate success, Friday the 13th has certainly had a lasting impression on audiences (obviously). But, by the same token, German filmmakers such as F.W. Murnau pretty much knew exactly how to terrify audiences while here in America, we hadn't really established any concrete genre conventions. I'll drink to that. Here here!

gotta go with Mother Voorhees on this one. She birthed one of the greatest slashers ever and was the original Camp Crystal Lake murderer.

This one is gonna be close folks. I was thinking about going ahead and calling a winner and getting to work on the next match, but it's to close for that. Gotta let the time play out.

I have the feeling my dear Pamela is going to lose but at least it was close.

I have the feeling my dear Pamela is going to lose but at least it was close. Really? I have the opposite feeling. She's more over than Orlock is....so I'm expecting her to win.

I'll say this, there have been many more votes than there have been people saying who they voted for.

The winners advance to the next round right? Or are these one off matches?

I thought they were advancing to Round 2....and hey, you know, it'd be cool if we had a storyline going like Sinister does in his Hero tourney.
Like for this match, Orlock's coffin got misrouted and instead of Transylvania, it ended up in Pennsylvania....where it was stolen by a group of mischievious teens (who thought it was full of weed) on their way to Camp Crystal Lake for the summer.
First week there, Jason drowns, campers (and counselors) start coming up missing....and everyone THINKS it's Mrs. Voorhees doing the deed. She starts to investigate things, and ends up bumping into Orlock (who is snacking on a fresh victim) while sneaking through the girl's cabin looking for clues.
Time to FIGHT!

It'd be interesting if Pamela went up against her dear old son. Could Jason possibly ever harm mommy?

I think so....if the right nightmare-invading being were revealed to have been pulling his strings all along.....which would set up ANOTHER monster grudge match. Freddy vs. Jason, ROUND 2....this time, it's PERSONAL!

Would you guys rather I did descriptions like I did? Or storylines? Or both?
I was planning on writing up little things about the "Winners". Like "Winner" defeated person X by "something that is a trademark" when "loser" failed to do "Whatever goes here".
Also, winner advance to the next round. This is being done more like a traditional tournament.

I guess we'll have to see. Maybe Jason & Freddy won't even meet. Maybe one of them will be upset in this thing.
Though with the voting i'm not using the who would win ina fight method. I'm more so using the better character, better movie series method. Guess it depends on who's in the match.

Problem with writing storylines is that it might indicate that the two characters were doing battle which would mean we were voting just on who would win in a fight. Plus i don't think it would work as with Sinster's thread the winning character goes on to face someone new right away. While in yours we have two fresh people every round.

Okay, and Count Orlok edges out the mother of a future entrant 21-18. When I posted earlier, about it being close, it was a tie by the way. 17-17 at that point.
I'll have the next match up in a minute. In the meanwhile feel free to discuss the outcome. When I get the new match up this thread will be locked.
