Does anybody know of any decent music forums? Ones with a general input and not just of a single genre, or artist.
A lot of the ones I use just have people spamming to their own website on every thread and it's ridiculously annoying,
any of you crappers use a decent music forum you can reccomend for me?

I too, have had a terrible time finding a General Music Forum.
Everyone I find has a hard slant towards one or two particular genres or is just full of crap and spam.
I'm come to believe that Music is just too general to have a central type of forum on it. Even on this site, Wrestling is too broad based to be held to one set of forums.
Most things in life are that way I guess. The more General and Broadbased the Forum, the more... well, not useful they tend to be. Best chance might be to find a well Moderated off-topic forum and pray there is just a good mix of people... kinda like here.

I've never searched one but I cringe and the thought at the "my taste in music is superior to yours and anything popular/marketed to an obviously different audience sucks!" attitude I'm assuming would be the prevailing attitude on most.
Hell, it's pretty bad when music is discussed here; I hate to imagine the musical snobbery of say, a punk forum.

Music is too general to have a large all-purpose forum. Your best bet is to stick to genre-based forums.

Music Forums frequently mirror what happens in Politically Based threads on other forums. Which is sad, but then again, Music is normally a pretty deeply based belief... so it's understandable.

I use a rap website, basically for writing at first but I've been there since 05 and they have branched and have an impressive Other Music & Movies forum, yet they're just pretty dead with probably 10/20 posts a day. I'd love a complete music forum in the mould of this site, but it does seem like its not gonna happen.

Said attitude is already existing on forums of a SPECIFIC ARTIST, I wouldn't want to find out how it is on an hypothetical General Music board. I stopped posting on "Deep Purple Family" forum because of the super-biased opinions of fans-musicians, snobs and asskissers

I post on metal sludge (they appreciate other forms of music too though) but that site is DEFINITELY not for everyone.

I post on Ultimate Guitar's, which has a general music board and like 10 sub-forums dedicated to rock genres (they have rap too). They get alot of posts on it too, but some of it is heavily influenced by 4Chan, which doesn't really bother me cause I like that place
