Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting tickets for Zappa plays Zappa when they come to Ireland in June. My Dad's favourite musician of all time is Frank Zappa and a ticket would make a great birthday present for him I think.
Tickets are a bit pricy though and I wonder have any of you guys seen them play live? Are they good as far as being a tribute band is concerned?
Thanks

Thought this was about Guilty Gear. I'm disappointed.
Anyway, GO! He's awesome live.

My friend went and said it was awesome and he isn't really a big Zappa fan. I have the show taped off TV but haven't watched it yet, Dweezil is awesome though.

They were shown on Sky the other day. Noticed when was flicking through the channels. Didn't watch though. Not to my tastes but it was on Sky Arts and as that channel repeats programms a lot it will more than lickly be repated over weekend or this week. Check your Sky TV guide. Check them out for yourself.

Hey, totally worth it. Saw them at Bonnaroo last year. As i approached the tent, I assumed it was a recording of frank playing before the show, it wasn't, the show had already started.
Also, awesome, i didn't know they were playing in Ireland, is it in Dublin?
Edit: Yes it is. €60 isn't too bad, you could pay more for something much worse these days. Also Vicar St. should be a cool place to see them, I'm defo on for this.

I am a huge Frank Zappa nerd (and I'm writing my thesis on Zappa's body of work), I've seen ZPZ 3 times and will again in April.
If you like Frank's stuff, particularly the 1973 - 1981 era, you'll love ZPZ. Easily the tightest and most well rehearsed band I've ever seen.

I saw them last year, the best live act I have ever seen. They are also playing Melbourne in April at some time but I don't have enough money to see them again. If I did I would.
